Hot Wheels

It is a GNX. That one I took a stock kit and seriously lowered the suspension and tucked those big wheels under it from a die cast Jada car I had picked up at a yard sale cheap. Was able to use the side exhaust from it to. Think it was a 54 Chevy Belair. I seldom do stock builds.

Ill shoot the GNX next time I get a chance. For now its background filler. These are my 58 Impalas and 57 Belairs. The black 56 T-Bird was built around 1984. Some of this stuff goes back into the early 70s.

Have you ever seen the Mean Machine car hauler? How about a pair of Safari wagons and 67 Impala? There are a lot of 40 Willy's around.

 

Here are a couple pics on the GNX people wanted to see. It is a stock 1/24 scale kit that I built 7 or 8 years ago. I took a Maisto die cast car that I believe I picked up in a yard sale and used the wheels and exhaust on the 87 GNX Mongram kit during the build. Car has stainless firewall.

So I went by an estate sale today and saw a gun safe I wanted to look at. Wasnt for me but in a corner they had this trash bag, water damage to most of the packaging, guy said it had been in the basement at least 20 years. Probably 100 cars in here, scored it for a crisp 20.... Will go thru them later.

 

My brother in law came home with a 55 gallon plastic drum full of stuff like that 5 or 6 years ago at an auction. Nobody wanted to dig thru it and he bid $100. He made several thousand dollars from what he found inside. Yard sales and estate sales can be great. A lot of people dont know what they have but a lot do.
The packaging looks rough but the cars should still be good. Congrats on your find.

 

Yeah, I went thru a few of them. The packaging just disentegrated on some but for 20 bucks I can live with it.
