Got the second side on today, will need to drill a few more holes for the last couple mounting points and some sanding before they're ready for paint. Also want to bedliner the inside of the fenders and paint the inside of the wheel well in black so everything has a fresh coat

I was pretty impressed with how well they fit, need to sand back a few spots to make sure there isn't any rubbing but overall it lined up really well just mocking it up before drilling

I built them myself a couple years back, it's a DS2 kit from retrofit source... Have satin black reflectors, flat black surround, and gloss black projector shroud

They look like a really nice fit. Have you done the LT front suspension or just fenders for now?

Just fenders for now, installed new leaf packs and kings in the rear awhile back and also have bamf hangers and shackles coming in soon... Replaced my UCA's a few months back, gusseted spindles last week... Was thinking about saving for oem kings but figure might as well save and just go LT as it'll be cheaper in the long run. Been eyeing the camburg or dirt king +3.5 but money...

Exactly the way I look at it. I see lots of things...on forums, in daily life, truck related or not, that just aren't my style. I see many things that I'd like to have that just aren't in my budget, or not worth the price based on MY use. Would I like a $7,000 suspension on my Taco? Absolutely. With the limited off-roading I do, is it worth it to me? Absolutely not. As far as I'm concerned, don't go trash talking someone else's gear unless you're offering up your wallet along with your criticism. The one and only exception I find acceptable is when it's safety related, then by all means, speak up.

They were already painted as they came on the truck with the xspx package. The fenders and leather are the main reasons I went with this trim

Hopefully you're ok? That's the important part. As for the truck, look on the bright side: You get to start a new truck build! I will offer one unsolicited piece of advice here, take it for what you will or disregard it, up to you. Don't be in a rush to settle with the insurance company. If you have to, beg borrow or steal to make sure you aren't forced by finances to settle quickly. Two big reasons for this:

    1. Your health. It is not uncommon for symptoms from an accident injury to materialize. See your doctor, show him/her the photos, and explain the accident. I have a couple compressed discs in my neck to deal with from an accident I didn't think I was injured in. When they get irritated, it's debilitating. No more shooting pool for the rest of my life. No more riding sportbikes for the rest of my life. All from a very low speed accident in a moving truck in which I was a passenger.

    2. Full and fair settlement. Insurance adjusters WANT to settle quickly, even if it's your insurance company. They realize that most people will accept a lower amount if it's paid quickly, or may not realize the full extent of the financial impact right away. The longer it takes for you to accept a settlement, the more nervous the adjuster will get. Total up everything you have into your truck. While you might not get paid for it, total up the time you have invested in the work you did yourself. If you got a screaming deal on this part or that, don't count that as the value for said item. What's it going to cost you to replace it?

Again, I know this advice is unsolicited, so give it whatever weight you wish. I've just seen too many friends and acquaintances get the short end of the stick by being anxious to settle. Time is YOUR friend, not the insurance company's.

I did get pulled over 1 mile from the Tecate border and got a good harassing from the local policia. Bright red truck, California plates, and a roof rack full of surfboards... kind of stand out like a sore thumb. Walked away giving the scum bag $90. Everyone has to pay the Mexican fun tax every now and then.

True that, a good friend of mine was pretty heavily taxed in Rocky Point a few years back, though he did earn his punishment by urinating in public.

I was actually referring to the brand spankin' new Taco that got stuck on the beach in Rocky Point, tide came in, tide went back out, and when it did the truck was thoroughly stripped. The locals either had scuba gear or were excellent at holding their breath while wrenching LOL
