Installed the factory bed divider. Really liking this thing. If you mount the brackets like I have in the pics below and have a locking tailgate, it can't be removed/stolen. Will work this way until my DB cover comes in.

That’s factory? I’ve never seen that. About how much are they?

Also bought some brackets at Homedepot for $1 each (total of $8) and used them to mount some maxtrax I bought recently to the victory 4x4 roof rack. Definitely a cheaper (and still very sturdy) option over buying rack mounting plates from $50-$100 each.

Very nice. What part exactly did you buy from HD?

This is the exact item I bought. I stacked 2 of them per corner to add a little more rigidity. The bigger holes in the middle are the perfect size for the maxtrax mounts. The smaller holes had to be drilled out a bit to accommodate the t-slot bolts.

I was going to paint them, but they are galvanized.

The T bolts came from MaxTrax?

The mounting hardware that's on the brackets is a maxtrax product.

The @victory4x4 roof rack uses 80/20 t-slot aluminum rails (I believe) for the cross sections. They provide a few mounting bolts, but I purchased this pack of bolts and T nuts to mount the plates from HD. I'll be using them to mount other things to the rack as well. Only issue is, they are a little long and will bottom out in the channel of the rail. Had to add washers (rubber in my case) to back them off a bit.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
Thanks, something for me to keep in mind for any future improvisation.

Ever successfully painted over galvanizing before?

On my fence at the house. Self etching primer and then a coat of black paint. In this case, I'm just going to leave it alone.

Thanks for all the information above. I have some knock off tracks and I am stewing on mount ideas.

I should just forget about reading anything before the sun is nice and warm. I saw "I was going to paint them..." as "I'm going to paint them...".

Anyway, I recently picked up a can of "cold galvanizing" spray and on the label they recommended a latex primer before any topcoat.

Made sense. When I did my gutters and downspouts at home, the brush-on primer I found for galvanizing was a somewhat gooey translucent blue liquid, most likely a latex (water soluble, as I recall).

spent 7hrs installing just the rear portion of my lift. Working with just basic hand tools by yourself in a driveway sucks.

lol, all good. I'll have to remember the latex primer in the future. I hate painting anything to be honest. But I'll have my hands full (hopefully this weekend) when my bumper and sliders get here. Opted for the bare metal option and plan on doing the spray on bed liner my self to coat them. Did it before on some jeep bumpers and it came out great and held up even better. Was also a hell of a lot cheaper then the powder coating.

I had the same thought and considered turnbuckles at first but the chain was cheaper and easier for the handful of times I’ll actually need to use it. A ratchet strap over the top and one around the back of whatever I’m hauling should provide enough downward pressure to keep the tailgate pressed down

I received 3 out 4 of my ICON Rebound wheels over the weekend. Also got most of my suspension from @HeadStrong Off-Road. Thank you Marie!

Also thank you to Mike @eccracer104 for the wheels and Don @Discount Tire for the tires!

I was worried about the bronze on cement, but it looks way better in person as compared to photos.
