    Feels less jarring on highway.
MPG decreased but I added skids and sliders the day before TSB. So maybe a wash.

I do follow the thread but it's impossible to keep up with. Too many posts. Be interesting to see how it plays out.

I'm planning to get the TSB whenever my 5k mile/5 month service comes due. I was planning on getting the OV tune but overall I'm already pretty happy with the truck the way it is even without the TSB.

    Hahaha

The ONLY thing that was implied is that he may offer tuned trucks at dealers to sell. Nothing about Toyota itself.

Seriously - out your ass dude

Many posts ago he said Toyota was using his knowledge to help with the Camry tune. They clearly already have a relationship how is this any different? He’s not going to tell us if he is, but seems pretty obvious no?

Maybe. Just seems like little info. Especially if he did say he's helping with the Camry tune and then says that they're dropping everything else and focusing on the Tacoma and Tundra. But I digress.

I know this thread is aging but I just had TSB 0058 completed and it has significantly improved the driveability of the truck. Before it could not wait to get to 6th gear and then 3 seconds later it would be back to 4th. This used to drive me crazy - to the point I was getting ready to test drive a Ranger or trade for a MT. So, anybody thinking about it or who has not had it performed I completely recommend giving it a try.

I finally got my truck done yesterday. I drove it for 200 miles today. I was getting 21.5 mpg on the hilly highways around Phoenix. I have 285/70R17 tires and a lift. That’s 4 mpg better then I was getting prior. It stays in high gear and powers through the hills without dripping to 3 and 4 gear and holding it for a few minutes like it used to with the cruise control on.

It also stopped down shifting to 3rd and full throttle back to speed when the car in front of me changes lanes with the adaptive cruise control on.

I also drove up to northern arizona mountains and went off-roading on some trails in 4x4 high and ect mode. After the climb up to the elevation and wheeling for an hour and coming back to Phoenix the tank avg is still at 19.6 mpg.

I have not corrected the speedo for my tire size. If I account for my tires it’s 23/21 mpg. The truck drives soooooo much better. I was seriously considering get of rid of it. Best thing ever. I love my truck now.

I too got the tsb done a few days ago, huge changes in the way it drives. No more bucking between 40-50 (my normal highway driving pace in traffic)

Until this TSB, my most beneficial mod had been adding the Shift Sense Pro...works great...big improvement.

Since the TSB, I've ceased using the Shift Sense...just don't need it anymore. The truck accelerates, shifts, and performs much better.

It will sometimes still downshift to 4th on the interstate (wind/hills), but is noticeably better.

I got the TSB done last May. There was immediate improvement in all ways mentioned for a short time. That said, after a while the computer learning slowly degraded the "improvements". Ultimately I think a lot of the feedback people have is a based on their driving habits and how the computer adjusts.

Long term the TSB doesn't seem to be a big change, but it could be a marginal bit better.

I could add too that since the TSB I've been using S Mode almost exclusively.

It seems to be the best performance choice, post-TSB.

I believe too (could be mistaken) that the transmission doesn't 'learn' in S Mode? If true, using S Mode post-TSB could 'preserve' the gains or improvement?

Hi all, I was told by the dealership that they only do safety recalls and have never heard of any flash programming for any transmission issues. I’m new to the forums, so hello everybody!

Tell them your truck surges and feels like its stumbling between 40-50mph. If your car is out of warranty, you would have to pay though. TSB are under warranty, recalls can be done out of warranty.
