At the end of the day if my camera angle is off I am ok with that as there is a 2% chance that I will ever be off roaring where this will matter. Maybe once my lease is up I will off road where I need the camera but for now it works for me!

I received my Bed lights today. It took about 15 minutes to install. Everything works perfectly. You just connect them to the empty plug behind the tail lights and you're good to go.

Awesome. Thanks for posting. I can tell right away that’s a different perspective from mine because I can always see the front license plate frame/front bumper at the bottom of my front cam. I use that to get my truck very close to the wall in my small-ish garage. I can post a photo later to show the difference in perspective. But like I said earlier, as long as the cam works I think that’s the main thing and it looks fine to me in your photo.

I’m curious how the view is from an OEM PRO front cam. Is the grill itself visible at the bottom of the screen like that on OEM?

I just checked mine and the grill is visible on the OEM Sport as well (never noticed that before!). Now I’m curious if the front bumper is visible from an OEM Pro camera. If so, then perhaps your camera is just pointing a bit high which is maybe why the bumper isn’t visible? I was thinking the camera perspective could be fixed by just pointing it down a bit, but that would bring more of the grille into view. Hmm...would probably need to move it forward as well. But hell, maybe that’s how the OEM PRO front perspective looks and the bumper just isn’t visible? Now we need someone to post a shot of that. :)

    Roadkill...couple of questions...

What turns these lights on? Do they come on with the parking lights...cargo light...other?
What year is your truck? I’m wondering if all 3rd gens have the empty tail light plug you’re referring to.
Did you have to cut the bed material?

    thanks!

I'm not Roadkill, but I can answer these questions.

    1. These lights are connected to the cargo light. (Switch is on the dash).
    2. His truck is a 2020 TRD Sport. Only 2020's have the connector.
    3. No cutting is required on 2020's to install the lights.

The 2020+ have pre-cut holes for the new style bed light kit. My sport had caps over those holes, which you pop out to install this kit.

Does anyone know any custom metal fabrication shop out there that can make you a camera bracket if you're able to provide a rough sketch of the size of mounting bracket? The fitting of the bracket on a '20 OR grill would allow a camera to be placed right underneath the emblem.

Is the plug different on the PRO vs OR w/ the front camera? I'm just curious if I wanted a total OEM set up and did A PRO grill, garnish, and camera if it would also require new wiring? Swapping ECU or wiring would be the deal breaker on me for this. Like you I don't hare the new grills, but I still prefer the PRO.

Just picked up my first Taco yesterday. Looking to install the bed lighting kit.
Is there any reason the 2020 Bed Lighting Kit shows as "This product is no longer available" on the Toyota page? Are they coming out with a different version or has this just not been fully released yet? just want to make sure first before i pick some on ebay

For what ever reason there has been a stop sale on them in the US. Somehow this dealer in Florida is able to get them. I ordered them and should be here Wed

I think most websites have not run an update yet after the part number was released.
