I don’t think he got hurt, I think they benched him.

maybe they are playing him so that the rookie QB doesn’t get injured in the remaining meaningless games?

It's refreshing to hear Pats fans whine about bad officiating.

Having watched the Kittle reception several times now I personally want to see the two Saints players as well as Payton suspended for their egregious fouls on the play. One, grabbed the facemask and held on for literally 20 yards while another attempted a legal tackle and the third finally succeeded by leaping up and grabbing Kittle around the helmet with no effort at making a legal tackle of a player slowly stumbling down the field carrying two others. Both illegal efforts continued all the way into the ground. Once again Sean Payton's disdain for the rules regarding opposing player safety has infected his own roster. Its time for the league to stomp this crap at the source. Both players and Payton need to be suspended to send the message since it obviously didn't register after the head hunting scandle of a few years ago. No win should be so important that you risk breaking someone's neck to make a tackle. This wasn't a case of missing by accident and making contact around the head/neck while going to the ground, in both cases it was sustained effort to maintain the illegal tackles with disregard for the consequences. That's bad coaching. When the Saint's gunner was hounded on the fake punt good coaching let the niners player know he was immune to PI because it was a punt formation and with both players having a fistfull of jersey no holding call was likely. Good coaching teaches players how to be successful within the rules. Sean Payton may be a great offensive coach but it's time he pays along with his players before his disdain ends in tragedy. Football is not a sport for pussies but it shouldn't be a haven for obvious crap like this. The league needs to send the message around the league and to Payton in particular since he seems to have already forgotten it. We've seen players hit with suspensions for flagrant fouls before, this qualifies and then some.

What's hard to imagine is a division so weak that 6-7 leads it, but anythings possible. How 'bout them Cowgurls?

I suspect that they'll get very heavy fines, at the very least. But yeah, I caught that foul on the highlights last night and it was some serious BS that they didn't straight-up eject them for it.

Well, Payton did lose a year due to Bounty-gate....

Maybe some of them will be added here:

    The game’s dangerous enough...

That was serious bullshit. Juszcyk took a cheap helmet shot too that really bent his neck.

I watched about 90% of the game, but missed this. Why can I not seem to find it online for viewing?

Youtube the game highlights. Kittles catches a 2 yd pass for a first down with less than a minute to go and rumbles down the sideline. You can watch as the first guy grabs his facemask and holds on for the rest of the play. The second guy tries to tackle Kittle with the first still hanging on to his grill and with those two still being dragged along the third leaps up and throws his arms around Kittles head to finally haul him down.
I get that sometimes it seems the flags can fly early or be overly cautious but good grief, two of them made no effort at all at a legitimate tackle. Given the penalties for much less willful infractions including being disqualified these were both sustained intentional efforts that completely disregarded the consequences.

That's the kind of play like what happened to Cook where guys get penalized for hitting the wrong spot on a moving target. You want the pf calls to try and limit these and I don't fault either team on those two plays since it seems impossible to prevent and still call it tackle football but that said I've seen similar fouls equally unintentional draw suspensions. The two on Kittle weren't physical mistakes, they were fouls of intent. If you grab a facemask, you're supposed to let go. If you don't it's a pf, at some point it becomes something more since you've had time to decide not to let go and in this case hang on with a death grip for 20 yards. The third guy intentionally targeted Kittles head to make the tackle from the start which makes it just the kind of head hunting foul Payton's reputation has fallen to and why he needs to be held accountable for this apparent mindset. I'm sure the shot Juice took on the option play is one for the highlight reels but that was a legal hit and still part of the game. Taking players down by the head is how necks get broken.

Unfortunately it seems so far little has been made of this play beyond praising Kittle though maybe if more of us make it known how little we esteem such weak-assed shit maybe the NFL will still take action. I don't Tweet of FB but if you do feel free to chime in.

Jesus you’re soft lol Nothing about that play was anything close to ejection worthy. It was a face mask and a tackle that wasn’t even a horse collar
