Fuck here in Indiana. For rifles come to my house or wherever and you give me cash I give you gun. Pistols on the other hand, meet at ffl do a background check and pay small FFL fee $25 is average and that's it 30 minutes at most.

I bought the first gun in my name on black friday this year. I was expecting some long drawn out process, as the last time I checked the FBI had to be called. And with black friday I imagine they had to be damn busy.

Nope, the LGS did it all online. Filled out a 4473 and handed it over, 3 mins later he said I was good to go and settle up at the register. 10 mins in and out, took it home that day.

@Kwikvette you familiar with the company Advantage Arms? They make gun parts/accessories...one of my best friends owns it. Well, his dad started it and he took over about 5 years ago when his pops wanted to retire, moved it from CA to Idaho when he took over.

When I was in IL, some shops had extra forms etc. but for me it was an easy in and out being LEO.

Then in TX, it was just as fast and easy. I just remember the blue label store verifying my credentials so I can get the blue label pricing on the Sig Legion and FNX-Tactical I bought that day.

In CA the process itself is pretty quick too, it's just the waiting to pick up the firearm that sucks.

    Dude, KAC or bust :luvya:

Going to sound like an elitist (I don't care, kiss my ass), but you guys that live in free states often skip buying the best firearms money could buy and I just sit back and cry...

    I really want a select-fire MP5.

NC does require a pistol purchase permit signed by a sheriff to buy a handgun. Its an antiquated law that was an extension of Jim Crow laws. Most southern states have or atleast had them at some point.

Or you can get a cwp and bypass that BS.

Well, being an FFL in CA costs money, but if you already have it and set up shop, you enjoy many of the freedoms that others outside of CA enjoy; dangerous weapons permits and so forth allow you to own off-roster firearms, suppressors, etc.

I know because I have 2 friends that have FFL's, 1 of them being an actual shop.

Speaking of, I need to see if I can extend my CWP (or in CA, CCL) for other states.

AZ issued mine via mail being a veteran and all; just had to get finger printed at my local sheriff's office.

yeah I think it was mostly because they wanted to get out of CA anyway and be in a more gun-friendly area than LA county (where their original HQ was). I feel bad I haven't been up to visit him in Idaho since they moved up there like 4 years ago lol.

haha I'll try and ask next time I talk to him

I had a few White Oak's; they make some accurate AR's.

KAC is just so fun to shoot due to their proprietary gas system, and their proprietary BCG/etc. have lasted over 20k rounds without cleaning.

Truly tested out in the field; look at their contracts with the govt., and I'm not talking "cheapest bidder" but for their specialized forces.
