I grew up in NJ and always thought that was a strange law. In college had a part time job at a busy Wawa pumping gas, sucked when it was cold or if you were by yourself.

You can pump your own if you're on a motorcycle, most attendants know to just start the pump and hand it off rather than risk scratching your bike.

 

I prefer the cashiers to self checkout. I'm one "unexpected item in bagging area" away from going full Michael Douglas in "Falling Down"

 

I see nothing wrong here. A good use of Starbucks coffee.

 

Wow, that's crazy, glad you played it smart and avoided the confrontation, it's just not worth it. A few years ago I legally passed a guy at night in a passing zone, he got up on my bumper and put his high beams on and followed me for miles like that, I finally took a winding road that I knew well where I could ditch him.

 

Yea, again I’m a much different man that what I was 11 years ago. That beating was actually an eye opener for me on the road I was headed down.

One time in September 2018, a guy in a black Suburban flipped me off and called me a certain derogatory term for gay people, because I beeped at him after he pulled out from the shoulder without signalling and I almost plowed into the back of him. My parents watched the dashcam footage and said that it would have exonerated me from any wrongdoing if I'd hit the Suburban.

A-fuckin-men, this is exactly why I stopped going to Kroger and started shopping at the mini-WalMart. Walmart don't care if you got a cinderblock on the scales.

Timely post as I drove up to Manhattan over the weekend and refueled in NJ.

I pumped my own gas after the attendant enabled the pump (was initially confused as to why the pump wouldn't recognize my credit card.)

While pumping my own gas I saw several drivers tipping the attendant while getting their gas pumped.. so yeah.. it's about control and $ as opposed to safety.

 

I just did rear brakes 2 weeks ago. 220k miles on OEM. The shoes were thin but still there and functional as well as having some adjustment left. The drums came off after lots of PB, heat and work but didnt have much of a ridge at all. Went pretty easy.

 

I wouldn’t tip them shit. Everyone wants a tip for doing what they were hired to do.

 

The real power move as a motorcyclist is to stay on the bike and make the attendant pump for you as you maintain eye contact

 

Another serious question. If you have an electric car, does someone have to shamble out and plug it in for you?
