Good for the price but @Kwikvette enlightened me on the nightforce scope for 338 Lapua. Still annoyed on that

I shoot, or rather did shoot NRA highpower matches mainly. You want the heaviest gun possible for that type of shooting. So a 15 pound gun feels good to me haha. I actually had the buttstock of my garand filled with lead BB's at one point haha.

Never really cared for a 2 stage trigger, a good single stage is my preference.

I love loosing all feeling in my left arm due to the combined weight of the gun and the sling wrapped around my arm tighter than a tourniquet. And the 100 degree heat feels great beating down on you while you have a shooting coat on top of a sweatshirt. Fun times.

Loved shooting the M1 at the CMP training course I did years ago. Stupidly, I didn't buy one when they still had top graded examples still available for cheap.

If I did that course again, I would choose an AR10 with glass over the M1 with irons, all day long. But it was fun trying to shoot targets at 600 yards with the antique stuff.

I think it was something like $500 for collector-quality examples. But this was twenty years ago. And my memory sucks sometimes.

I have the course binder somewhere. But I really don't want to find it and realize what I lost out on. lol

It was a good class down at Quantico. Learned a lot in the classroom and range.

I did their half day course at Camp Butner maybe 10 years ago or so. Added to what I had learned through the Appleseed program.

The one I did was CMP/VSSA (Virginia). I think it was four days over two weekends.
