You know what man, the 80 is like the pinnacle of them. If I found the perfect one, bone stock and low wear and tear and I mean nice, I'd be tempted to sell a couple things to pick it up. Ideally you find an grandma and grandpa that had it at their cabin and would use it there, but rarely, for 3-4 months combined throughout the year. It's finally hit 100k miles and so it's time for them to 'upgrade'(downgrade irl :D)

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
So I’ve been looking around trying to find a thread about using an ac panel from a 96-02 4Runner so I could change the color of the bulbs without the orange film disrupting that. I’m having zero luck, anybody remember a thread on this?

I feel like the 80 is the absolute best all arounder. Just enough power. Surprisingly-good handling. Reliable drivetrain. No outdated electronics.

I've got two sub 100K milers in my collection right now. Both are pristine, locked and fully maintained. I've been given a lot of thought to selling the 93 because it's too nice to thrash, but not "significant" enough to be an appreciating asset in terms of collectible offroaders.

One thing is for sure, keeping them in tip-top condition is no small task in terms of maintenance needs. Will probably always keep my 97 CE and continue to look for a 40th to keep her company.

Honestly, I'm in it for so much $$ at this point that most people freak out when I tell them how much I need to get out of it to make me not feel bad. Especially newbs to the LC world who have no clue because they look at crappy craiglist rigs all day. lol

I actually like the 100 a bunch. Been looking for a winter beater for about six months. No luck so far. Too many buyers, not enough quality early 100s to go around. The Boss prefers driving a 100 as compared to the 80s, so those are my marching orders.

And if it was cloth but had the moonroof.... The cloth 80 series seats are extremely comfy. The leather ones not so much. The cloth are super high quality man. 25 years old and mine still look in excellent shape. Maybe I need to swap my 80s buckets into the Tacoma??? :D

Yeah the 100 series is a dream to drive.... My favorite for the ride. How is the 200? I haven't driven one yet

I've been talking to a guy about his 100 that has cloth seats. It's definitely not too common on either series.

The leather in my 93 is uncracked but it has creases and is a bit stiff. Could use an intensive conditioning treatment. My 97s leather is soft and cushy.
I think the only real issue with comfort in the 80 is the marginal leg room for the front seats.

Yeah I hadn't even heard of 100 with cloth seats, at least state side. His a US cruiser? And cloth original? If so that'd be cool to see some pix

There's been a bit of divergence in the 100 market of late... The early ones get overlooked. Because guys with money burning a hole in their pockets want the 5 speed auto, and then the really big spenders want the VVTI engines from 06-07.
I think top, TOP money for the early ones is somewhere in the mid teens. Unless it's an exceptional example. Whereas Asks can be up in the 30s and 40s for low mile late one. Which is 50% more than you can spend on an early 200.

Yes, US 100. It's a weird one. Haven't gotten it totally figured out yet. Not like it's a poverty pack, either.
