Even though GM stopped calling the smaller Blazer the S-10 Blazer after the 1994 model year, it was always based on the S-10 until the end of production; Even after S-10 production ended in 2004, the Blazer soldiered on until 2005. Based on what I've seen throughout my travels, unmodified 2WD 1998-2005 Blazers are quite common even North of the Mason Dixon Line. I'm not talking about "Xtreme" models either; While 2WD Suburbans and Tahoes are not that common in my area, I've seen a good number of decent condition 2WD Blazers around here...

2WD Blazers older than 1998, however, are very uncommon around here; Especially ones that haven't been lowered and/or chopped up and modified. This 1995-1997 4-door model that I spotted in the parking lot of a shopping center is one such example; Making this example even rarer is the fact that it's a base model!

1995-1997 Blazers came in three trims; Base, LS, and LT. The S-10 Blazer was fully redesigned for the first time since its 1983 debut, going on sale in late 1994 as a 1995 model, and air-conditioning was standard on models from 1995-onward. The base model had few standard features other than air-conditioning; The LS added power windows, power locks, cruise control, and a tilt steering column; The LT added leather seats and a few other features I'm not remembering at the moment.

The beige base model has crank windows and manual locks, but it based on what I saw when I took a peek through the window, it seemed to have cruise and tilt as well (which were optional on the base model). Power windows and locks may have been an option on the LS as well, but I'm pretty sure I never saw an LS without power everything. Another significant upgrade from the base model was the presence bucket seats and a floor shifter (the 4-door was not available with a manual transmission from 1995-onward). This one had a column shifter and a bench seat. I do believe a bench seat was standard on the LS, but I every LS 4-door I've seen in the last 15 years or so has been a bucket seat/floor shift model.

With the exception of an aftermarket CD player, this Blazer is 100% stock and also seems to be in halfway decent condition for being more than 20 years old!

This one was photographed and sent to me by fellow YouTuber who owns a garage/repair shop, in an area where 2WD SUVs are quite common...

As for the 1998-2005 Blazer, stock 2WD models are relatively easy to come by...
