Bushings for Dakar Leaf Pack

    Bilstein 5100s with OME 885 Medium Duty Dakar Leaf Springs SPC Upper Control Arms Pro Comp 7032 wheels BFG AT K02 in 275/70/17
    I just got my Dakar’s delivered today, but forgot to order bushings. I looked at the wheelers set which is about half the price of the OME set. I also looked at Headstrongs set. Any recommendations?

    everyone keeps saying no more candy tho :(

    and yeah the wheeler's bushings are more than enough. However, there is another sort of cheap option out there from Energy Suspension that you can get from Amazon for $50 with prime shipping. Depending on how much wheeler's charges for shipping ($45 for three sets of bushings + shipping) you may just be better off buying from amazon.

    Be sure to order part number 04005-65104 from the cheapest place online or your dealership if they can do it for cheaper. It is a PAIR of brand new stock shackles with no bushings. You can try to cut out the stock bushings from the ones you have installed now but plenty have tried and failed. Plus it's not too expensive and it makes installation so much easier with one less thing to do. Then throw some poly bushings in there too from the 3rd wheeler's kit or the energy suspension and you'll have a nice rear suspension that is solid and free to move as it needs to. Be sure to lube everything up plenty. Here's a picture of those stock shackles.

    You do NOT need new shackles. There is no point at all in buying new ones.

    There are bushings in both ends of the springs. You take the bolt out from the shackle and it releases the spring and bushing. You take the bolt out from the frame and it releases the other end of the spring and bushing.

    OME springs used to come with bushings in one end (front, if I remember correctly), I don't know if they still do. In some cases it is possible to salvage existing bushings from the old springs. I did on mine. Oil, obviously, a crow bar, BFH, and an air chisel.
