    Hello Tacomaworld,
I've been browsing some of the forums about replacing my OEM sub and still had some questions. I have a 2014 Dbl Cab with the JBL system and am wondering if I can use the subwoofer inputs for the stock amp to a monoblock set up instead. My two concerns are that I might have issues by not having a connection to the sub with the stock amp, and I read on one forum that the sub is in parallel to the rear speakers. If anyone has had success with adding an additional amp/sub while retaining the OE door speakers/headunit, please let me know if there is anything I need to look out for. :)

Originally I wanted to remove the OEM JBL sub and just use an after market one with the rest of the stock JBL system but there was no way to make the wiring at the JBL amp work with an after market amp. I used a line out converter, T-Tapping the wires right before they entered the JBL sub as my signal wires and ran new power and ground. It worked, running them both this way.

Yes it was the only way to make it work. Since then my JBL head unit died so I had a full Kenwood system installed with a JL Audio Stealth box.
