I dig it. Although I'm not a huge fan of those mirrors. They look like they'll get torn off fairly quickly. Otherwise, you've done amazing work here.

For the record, proper HiLux mirrors...:D

I’m about to install a LRO 3/2 lift on my truck. Figured I’d go ahead and replace the needle bearing while I’m at it. Is there an install tool floating around I could buy used or borrow? I’m in Lake City
    Thanks!!

Not trying to dis your interests, but I just can't comprehend the whole SBR deal. I sounds like a huge pain in the ass to make sure you keep it in compliance and it doesn't serve a purpose that can't be filled in a more efficient way. Gimme some insight here, please?

Now this is more my speed, although I'm still waiting for some more accessories before it's ready for the range...

I considered it, but I already have a 6.5mm BR with similar performance and I have a shit load of .223 brass, bullets, and powder, so I went with .223 (it's actually a .223 Wylde chamber).

I am planning on turning my R700 6.5 BR into a chassis rifle (but even before that, I want to have the barrel threaded and a Hellfire muzzle brake put on it) and I was considering having it rechambered to .260 Rem, but after I looked at the handloading data, in spite of the larger case capacity the velocity gain per bullet weight is pretty much nil so why bother, other than to sell it to someone that could use factory ammo in it. Not worth it to me at this point.

However, my 6.5 BR rounds will fit in a .223 magazine, although the follower would probably need to be altered. A 6.5mm Grendel barrel blank could just as easily be chamber reamed for 6.5mm BR and I wouldn't need to get any new dies or anything. I'm guessing a 6.5mm Grendel is perfomance-wise pretty close to the 6.5mm BR, just one is based on the 7.62mm Russian case while the other is based on the .308 Win case.

I already have one SBR (AK). I went the AR pistol route because you get the same functionality without having to go through the tax stamp BS.
Where it gets interesting is the "firearm" category. In an earlier ruling, AR pistols were measured from the end of the fixed brace to the muzzle (under the flash hider). A measurement of less than 26.5" = pistol, so no VFG (but an angled foregrip is acceptable...). A measurement of 26.5" or longer = firearm where you could have a VFG. The new interpretation is from the end of the buffer tube to the muzzle, which puts my 10.5" barrel and A5 tube at 26.25". If I was to install an 11" barrel it transitions from a "pistol" to a "firearm".

What's really fun is an ongoing discussion related to AR lower receivers not meeting BATFE's definition of a receiver. There was a case in CA where an ex-con was producing 80% lowers, then allowing members of his "metalworking club" hit the enter key on his CNC machine that would finish milling out the lower. The feds tossed the case because they didn't want the BATFE regulations picked apart in court. It's a real shame too because it could have nullified the NFA and GCA.

Ball joint spacers and lift blocks, am I doing it right?
20191214_140209.jpg I did a little work on one of the AR's today. Converted it from .300 BLK to 5.56. Turns out I dont really like reloading and .300 is just too much to shoot regularly compared to 5.56.

If I ever get a 30 cal suppressor I may revisit the cartridge. I have enough primers, powder and projectiles to load 8 or 900 rounds. And enough brass, most of which hasn't been converted for 2K.

I have a SB3 Brace on the way to replace the KAK.

Go with 6.5mm Grendel plus a muzzle brake. My 6.5mm BR was definitely a harder hit than my .223 was. I could shoot the R700 .223 all day and go through 200 rounds without it bothering me, but when I went up to the 6.5mm BR, I found my limit was about 50 rnds before my shoulder got a bit sore. I'm seriously considering getting a Hell Fire muzzle brake put on my match rifle. I would imagine 6.5mm Grendel with a good muzzle brake would be a happy medium between .30 and .223. Did I mantion I was a huge fan of the 6.5mm/.264 caliber? :D

I do like hand loading. I like playing with the powder/bullet weights and whatnot to get the most accuracy I can out of my firearms. And I can usually get match grade ammo for the cost of generic ball ammo.
