The urd short shifter uses the stock shift lever so it won’t fix his issue. They provide an add on part that lengthens the bottom part of the stick shifter so the rubber in the stick will still be loose and the stick will feel wobbly. Also the urd kit doesn’t replace both cup bushings in the transmisssion. Also he’s trying to sell it so why spend more money than he needs too. Just fix it right and flip it.

Just order a stock shifter and the marlin crawler part(or stick part) and be done with it.

Shifter is fixed! Badger was the first to call the problem! The rubber inside the stick itself was busted and loose. The bushing and seat were in good shape. I replaced them anyway, I had them in case I got there and needed them. The whole job took less than 45 minutes. If I ever do another one, 30 minutes tops! Thanks to everyone who replied! Im dreading listing this truck for sale and dealing with the crazies! (whats your bottom dollar (without even looking at it), do you take payments, is there any warranty....) I just wish I knew the number of the guy who's looking for 2006, 6 speed manual so I could call him and say come get your truck.... lol

Thanks again you guys are great!

I understand they get loose with older cars but mine broke on the inside, the shifter will move all over the place now.

DO NOT use 3m 5200. It is water curing and will take months to set up inside the shifter. You need to use some type of catalyzed urethane or epoxy

You can't separate them easily, even once they have failed. I used a torch to burn the rubber out and then welded it. If you want to restore some rubber to the shifter, you have to drill a hole in the side and inject it, then plug the hole. You can drill 1-5/8" up from the bottom of the fat tube and hit an open spot.

Thanks, I may just drill the hole and fill it up with silicone without taking it apart.

I installed this piece from Marlin Crawler. It indeed firmed up the shifter a bit and decreased the boogaloo it does cruising in high gear.

However it also decreased give at max throw and while going between gears. With it I'm more likely to hit the stop between 1st and 3rd while shifting up from 2nd to 3rd resulting in a "missed" shift, as well as between other gears. I think the softer rubber piece provided important play that's now gone. Someday I'll put a new stock softer rubber piece back in.
