I hunt woods. No fields. I know they are there just can't seem to find them. I did get a button buck Saturday. I never put my cameras out this year. I hunted maybe 8 days in archery. Saw some does but I figure in archery I hunt for a buck. Although the later in the season it gets the more likely I will shoot whatever is legal. Haha I see some giants on Facebook people are getting. It blows my mind.

    On the hunting topic:
It’s illegal to hunt in my township since we’re a suburb that’s only 6 sq miles with a population of 15K.
That said, we’ve got some SERIOUS deer. I saw an 8 point buck just this past weekend in my backyard.
I’m not a hunter & wouldn’t know what to do with one if I shot it.
It would be helpful to have a controlled hunt in the Local wooded areas to thin out the numbers. Currently cars seem to be the only thing taking them out.

Deer get whacked on my street on a daily basis. Last one that got hit was mangled but still alive. Next door neighbor panicked and called the cops to get it help for the deer?? Cop asked me if I had kids, and I said nope. Told the crazed neighbor to go back in her house and he would take care of it. Pulled out his gun and shot it right in the head. Turned to me and said the township will be out in the morning to get the deer.

That's how the cops handle it pretty much everywhere. My mom has put in a call specifically requesting they come shoot the deer, guess she didn't have her gun on her that day.

Long Shot here, but I'm trying to gather parts to rebuild my cap. When I purchased it I was told it needed a bulk head reinforcement. I have spent too long on A.R.E's site, the cap/shell/camper thread searching for something like this. It is essentially where the cap meets the front of the bed. I have a piece of 2" angle aluminum that I have in mind as a support, but want to see what it should look like before hacking the aluminum and trying to figure out how to fasten to the fiberglass shell. If anyone is running an ARE topper and could snag a pick I would appreciate it a lot. My model is a cx reinforced roof I believe. Can't remember its been almost a year that it has been off. Thanks in advance.

@loosnut , that cap (1st gen) I passed off to you was ARE, and had a metal base.
