Apologies if I missed it in this thread but I don’t remember seeing or reading anything about a clip holding the female piece of the harness in the A pillar attached to the A pillar.

I know I’m supposed to snip the black retainer clip to slide it down.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Remove it from the A pillar so you can slide it and the wire down to give you room for the new plug adapter. Otherwise it will bunch up and getting the trim back on is very difficult.

Pull the plug off the A pillar. Move the clip to the Meso plug. Attach (EDIT: the Meso plug with the clip) to the A pillar. Slide excess cord down through the dash.

Got it. Thanks, guys. That white clip was just a pain to get off... from both the pillar and the original harness. I half mauled it but finally got it to come off.

Just wanted to test it before the actual install as @MESO suggested.

    So far so good...

Planning on doing the actual install on Saturday together either the speaker upgrade so I don’t have to worry about time and getting to work. Hopefully someone's on in case there's any hiccups. :fingerscrossed:

When I did my install I think I disconnected and reconnected the battery a half dozen times.

Tested the entire thing on the dash much like you, then each step of the way when a connection was made. It still did not take too long (2-ish hours or so). Driver's side door boot was a PITA as was the plug for the window controls. Those 2 things were likely close to 50% of my time.

None of it is hugely difficult.

FYI.. stubborn plug clips can be persuaded with a small screw driver or pick inserted between the locking clip and the retainer.

Anyone near Flagstaff, AZ that wants to tag team this? I'm lacking the motivation to tackle this on my own.

That’s good advice. I might do the same.

And used a small flathead screwdriver...

Let’s hope that means that the harness for the window switches and the boot will be a breeze. :fingerscrossed:

Nice work Meso. Might have to keep my eyes open for when they're available again.

My clip was so stubborn that I ended up just cutting it off out of frustration and using felt tape to secure the harness to the Apillar so it wouldn't move around.

Just got mine and going to install them tonight, I’m wondering why there is a second plug on this adapter? The video I saw only had one. Has something changed on the trucks or do I have the wrong adapter? Both adapters have a male and a female on them

The white plugs go into the pillar, the short cable goes to the driver side. The long cable to the passenger.

No I’m talking about the other two on the bottom of the picture. Notice how I have one go into the light and there is still another one?
