Yes another one of them threads...

I am in looking for bigger tires for my 2017 OffRd. I am currently lifted at about 2.5”

Anyone running 285/70/17 on the 4runner pro rims?

if so how high is your lift?

    are there any rubbing?

    did you do a CMC?

    Ready to be flame. Lol

    thanks

    Like, so many.
Keep in mind, you'll have to consider the width of the tire, not just the height. It's usually the width that causes rubbing.

I plan on using the 4runner pro rims for now. I believe there about 7" in width?

I previously had 5100's for roughly the same lift 2" with TRD 17inch Pro wheels, ran 285/70/17 KO2s with no rubbing. Stock UCA

just make sure you get a good alignment from a reputable 4x4 shop

Here is the problem: The exact truck with the exact equipment will get two different results. There is no answer to this question that's right for everyone. Searching will get you exactly what starting another thread will.... nothing.

I have eibach kit set at second notch i will rub occadionally on the mud guards. usually at 3/4 to full lock. just my experience. everyone on TW is very helpfuL

I said it before and I’ll say it again ... no amount of lift will help you clear tires if they don’t already clear stock.
It might not rub at ride height , now that you got your sorry little “ lift “ installed , but the moment u compress your suspension ... boom same issue rub a dub dub. The only way to clear larger tires would be with a wider LT suspension and or trim what ever it is hitting.

Do something right for once in your life. Run the 35s you want , but get 5.2 gears , LT suspension, RCV CV joints or dana44 hubs and Ujoints , 6” fiberglass fenders all around , and a wider tundra , sequoia or fully custom built rear axle.

Another factor is the actual tire size between different tire manufacturers.

I highly suggest going to the tire store and having them test fit a few different tires.

Discount Tire has been great to work with. They test fitted 3 different tires for me before I decided which one to go with.

Some folks can fit 285s on stock truck with no rubbing, some can't run 265/75/16 on stock truck without rubbing, and some even run 35" mudders with the factory UCA! Everyone's truck is different, so you'll never know unless you try it for yourself.

Not from what I have seen, they are pretty much the same, the difference is that very few people actually have the same equipment. Additionally, a lot of your space comes down to alignment and alignment techs do things much differently.

This seems more or less true to me after doing just what the OP didn't want to....i.e. reading 100s if not 1000s of pages of threads. It seems to depend on wheel offset and tire size more than lift. With the OPs size and wheel you may rub, more likely if you take it off road. Unfortunately there's not a magic answer on this stuff. Sometimes even when someone else has the same setup it's not the same due to truck variance it seems.

it's the same old story. We buy our new truck, watch a couple youtube videos , read up on the forums, see other people having fun so we think "hey why not" ? bigger tires , maybe a little lift, cool led lights, can't hurt (and besides this is my DD i'm making payments on, i need to still get 22mpg on the way to work too). The next thing you know your dropping some real cash here , fancy bilstein 8112s shocks, sliders, wench and all that other BS, only to realize you're still a joke and can't keep up with the real men...no no no. do it right the first time:

Buy a bone stock honda ridgeline (10/10 truck), trailer, and a fully built UTV that can keep up at the King of Hammers.

you will save so much more time and money this way...

edit* winch wench , same shit
