285’s On A 4 Banger SR?

    Absolutely. You would need UCA's and IMO a re-gear would be a must. You would need to (obviously) do some trimming and possibly a CMC to get them to fit. I also would upgrade to a bigger shock body to handle those 285's if you are actually going to use your truck off road.

    What is rarely mentioned is decreased braking performance..... Most 285s are load range E and are 10+ lbs heavier than stock per tire.... Translate that to rotating mass and they require more moe to accelerate and decelerate them.....

    You would still want to do UCA's and Re-gear at the least. UCA's to make sure you are in good alignment and not prematurely wearing your CV axles and tires. Re-gear for all around drivablility. People do it. Not sane people though.

    Yeah ideally UCA's, suspension and all that comes with a new suspension with bigger front shock body, and regear. With the trimming and CMC to do it right.

    Running 265’s now but want bigger tires for the looks only and about the lift idk if a 3 inch or a 3 front 2 rear

    I did this on a 2016 SR MT and the truck absolutely sucked to drive at anything above 35mph.

    On the freeway it struggled to hold 60mph. Any hill or incline was a pill to over come. There was rubbing here and there.

    Truck looked great and was good for puttering around town. That's about it.

    285/65-16 would be the same height as stock and get you that sweet '285' street cred.

    traded it in for a V6 and was much happier
