interested in buying this 4 runner for my girlfriend. i offered the guy 9k (is that good?) and he's gonna call be back, he sounded like he might bite. but anyway, my real concern was the steering wheel and column. can anyone confirm that it looks normal? it just seems a little off to me but i dont know much about the 4runners but always hear good things about them. its just ive always seen with tacomas and other 4 runners when the interior is smoke gray, well the steering wheel and everything else matches. any input is greatly appreciated guys, thanks in advance.

Thats a normal 4Runner steering wheel. I think that 9 sounds a bit high especially for a 4x2. I had a 98 4Runner and it was great, just lacked power. GL

    [IMG] Close Suggested Retail Value

Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices for a used car, and the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history, but has not been certified in accordance with any Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program the automaker may offer (for which it may or may not qualify, according to factors such as vehicle age and mileage). This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions.

It looks good in the pics. Its worth whatever you think its worth. I am sure it will last a long time. But in my opinion being its a 2wd non limited with over 100k I wouldnt pay over 7500.00 for it. I sold my 99 limited in excellent condition with 170k for 6500.00 But they are getting scarce in good condition so if you like it buy it.

From experience, be careful w/ that. I made the mistake of financing my ex's car. We broke up, she didn't make the payments and was still driving it. Was a pain trying to get the car back. GL

My boss just sold his 98 3.4 auto 4x2. I think he got 6k for it private party. It was pretty clean, but not perfect, 175K on it. He bought it with 70K, I believe he said he had a fuel injector go out, and he had the starter rebuilt just before he sold it. Ran great still.

A friend has one also, not sure how many miles are on it, but she's had it for like, six or seven years now after buying it used. I know she does not put up with car drama, so it must be reliable for her.

I wouldn't be too concerned with buying it if the maintenance has been documented. May be a bit high on price though.
