There is a rod across the back that is easy to remove to load the truck bed. This snugs up to the tailgate and creates a very tight fit. It doesn’t hang over the tailgate causing rubbing on the paint. I will try to get a post tomorrow with the gate open.

Was washing the truck in the sun and in trying to get some water spots out, I guess I scratched the vinyl b-pillar stickers. I was using a brand new Costco micro fiber cloth so it shouldn’t have left marks. Couldn’t stand the scratches so I took that shit off. I wasn’t sure if it looked better with them off.

Then, at work today I parked behind my buddy who also has a 3rd gen Tacoma and I think it helped me realize I actually prefer the look without the vinyl.

Thank you! I’ve been so undecided on what to do with the bed. Love the look of an overland rack but accept it’s not useful the rest of the time. Seeing yours and loving the change to the rear, I’m pretty sure I’ve made up my mind.

I already peeled off all my badges and box decals but I just can't muster the courage to peel those off. I keep thinking my truck will be the one that they cheaped out and didn't paint under them!

ha! I know what you mean. I was worried too and was ready to just have the dealer replace one of them but my OCD got the best of me. I couldn’t stand it scratched. I can always have them added back down the line.

Nothing Earth shattering but I just installed the ME-SO Customs Ultimate Dome Light & the Gasshole. Picked them up on Black Friday and they just arrived in Canada today. The dome light is very bright and lights up the back seat area very well. Very happy with it. I had put in an LED bulb a couple months back but it was not great. These are the way to go. I have the two front lights still in an aftermarket LED and I'm happy with them. I like the clear push lens and they are a massive improvement to the factory halogen bulbs. May decide to switch out the fronts with the ME-SO kit, but for now I am very happy with an after market LED bulb and the factory clear lens set.

Was disappointed with Toyota when I found out they cheaped-out with no cap hangar on the inside of the gas filler door. Such a simple thing. The Gasshole is expensive for what you get, but now no more wind blowing the cap against the side of the truck when I'm filling up.

Looks nice. I wanted to do this, but what do you do if you need to haul a load of firewood, sand, rocks, etc.?

Buy another Tacoma and install a rubber bed mat would be my suggestion.

Sounds like a plan, but we already have 4 vehicles in the stable now. I have to save some room for a 2021 Corvette. I think I will continue to use my utility trailer to haul dirty junk for now.

The material is very durable. It's not carpet, but plastic fibers. It can be hosed, power washed, and swept out, just like a bed without it. I've hauled all of the above with no issues at all.

    A few things….
This is my first post, I have a 19’ OR, 5100 w/Eibach 2” coils & 2.5” aal, ARE shell, Decked box, 285/75/16, BAMF sliders (not installed yet)...
I have read posts about this size tire not rubbing bit I can say with the 2” lift they so rub in forward and reverse on flat ground with the wheel turned all the way either direction. Maybe it’s the tires I have (Toyo RT)? Idk but yes rub.
I have nitro gears,5.29 can’t wait to install...after the holidays. Will keep you posted. The shifting is terrible and gas milage is not good (16mpg)

One hell of a first post!!! Welcome to TW :hattip:. Nice looking truck you have there. Some great mods too. Hope you get the rub figured out and the gears help with the shifty business and improve fuel economy.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I'm debating that as well. A small stone chip has me thinking about, but I like the continuous black with the tinted as well. My wife can make that stuff, so I'm considering a carbon fiber look too. Decisions...
