If you need to drive in deep snow, unplowed roads and dirt roads AT2s are better.

For hard packed snow/ice and normal paved road driving MS2s are better.

i don't think i'd want to drive 90k on one set of tires...you realize there's age rubber deterioration on sidewalls, cracks, cold/heat cycles that all amount to wear not just miles driven...
i don't doubt the MS/2s are a great tire, their wear rating is nice but there's a lot of good tire choices out there...

Sears Tires on the computer line has the MS2 s at $175.00 a tire for the P265/70/16 size but in the store $190.99,the dude at Sears online says that the store will SOMETIMES honor the online price, but I really wanted the AT2s they are $184.00? in store at Sears,if I could get the $175 MS2s in Store thats a good price.

I got it for $175/tire at Sam's Club. I also got $70 for buying a set of 4.. I think the deal is still going on now.

Am I correct in assuming these Michelin's are "LT" tires not "P" tires?

Yeah a litle more Testosterone looking plus I got a TRD Offroad package SR5 it needs a little Machoness in the wheels:D Im hoping the Highway ride is as good as the MS2 cause Im mostly a Street Queen and do alot of interstate driving that would be my only concern with them,if I had a little 2WD Toyota or other truck Id get the MS2s:burnrubber: The MS2s look good on Daves truck Taco4x4NC he looked like he bumped up a size to P265/75/16?

I did bump up a size to P265/75/16 with the MS2's..I could have bought the LTX AT's but the manager at Discount tire told me the MS2's would have longer tread wear and less balancing due to a less agressive tread.

The AT's are a great aggressive looking tire, just not what I needed for my 99.9% highway on road driving. Now if I had to four wheel it to work everyday I might consider the AT's.....

For the $$$ I went with the MS2's and am very happy with them so far. They are super quiet and handle great.

    Cheers!

Funny you should say that... I live in Montana where they don't plow non-main roads. In winter time, I feel like I'm on some artic expedition having to go over ice boulders, packed snow/ice, and deep snow just to get to work lol.

That's why M/S2 was not an option for me. If I end up moving to Boston area like I'm planning right now, I may get M/S2 once these wears out.

I would have chosen the same given those conditions in Montanna.....damm that even sounds like a cold name :D

Your probably right I had the original LTX M&S on my old truck they road like a dream on the Pavement,I have some Firestone Destination ATs on now at 70K they were a good tire and kinda of does everything well but I want to step up a little with a better comfortable all around tire,Im getting older and comfort and smoothness is more important than cool Macho looks unfortunately I wish the AT2s had both but not quite sure any AT tire I ever had had a blocky handling to them on the Pave. whereas the M&Ss were pure comfort and could also do the type of offroad adventures I was into.

Just wanted to let you know that Discount tire matched the $175 price from Sears this morning for the P265/70/16 MS2. Not bad and I still get the $70 rebate. They will install them tomorrow morning. :)
