Damn you! $400 is soooo tempting! But I fear it would open up a can o' worms for me, would need to add a leaf and...and...and..

Argh, now you have me thinking! What's the weight on that thing, 200lbs there abouts?

So if I have 5100's all around with the factory leafs and a Lear cap, would adding the RTT to it mean I need to get some more spring in my rear?

I want it, just need to check on a couple details tomorrow, but I could pick it up this weekend.

I think I just need to make sure it would fit inside my Long bed w/cap for transport and what hardware I would need for the leer/Thule rails on the cap.

Does anyone else know of other variables I need to consider?

I almost have my other half convinced we need an RTT. So in the mean time I am in the market for bed bars or bed rack for my future tent.

    (1) Brand New in the box SCS RAY 10 in Matte Bronze 16x8. Want to go 17x8.5 instead. $200.00 local as shipping kills the deal.

Is your cap rated for weight? I get sketched out standing on mine since it's not rated for it. I wound up installing the RTT on the cab of the truck and then using the cap rack as a gear holder.

I should be good, the rating of the cap and load bars are well within an acceptable range. The tent is small and light for an RTT and I'm average sized. Also when the tent is open the ladder takes about 30% of the load so you're not putting all of the weight onto the cap when deployed.
I'm going to start with 2 Rhino Rack load bars but I may switch to a platform later to get a lower profile mount to the cap. I'm hoping to have it all setup by X-mas and possibly do a test night or two in NH over the holidays just to see how it all works.
