Aunt’s ex-girlfriend had a non-Hemi 2014ish AWD Charger, which I always thought ran on regular.

Can I add the outside air temperature will effect the gas mileage greatly.....also check the air pressure in your tires. With the colder temperatures the tires will read lower pressures and so poor gas mileage. Point to make in the summer temperatures I can get 24 mpg and now I only get 22 miles to the gallon with an OAT of 41 degrees (5 degrees C)
    Good luck!

And yeah, my aunt is a lesbian. She’s quite open about it, though back when I was little the fact that she always had a female companion flew right over my head. A couple of her ex’s had some pretty cool vehicles though (in my opinion). In the 1990s, she was dating this woman who drove a 1993ish Chevy 3500 dually. My aunt once had a 1992 T4R 5-speed that she bought from John Elway’s dealer while she was living in Colorado.

Summer vs winter fuel could be your issue. Summer gasoline has almost 2% more energy than winter fuel.

I would like to talk about how easy it is for stuff to go directly over the heads of little kids, and I kinda miss those days.

A perfect example would be my aunt, who is a lesbian. She married briefly in the early eighties, but that marriage didn’t last. In the 1990s and early 2000s, she always had a woman with her, and since I didn’t know the definition of “homosexual” until at least 4th grade, it never occurred to me that my aunt was a lesbian until at least the early 2000s.

I believe I suspected that my aunt was a lesbian as early as the fall of 2003, but I was afraid to ask. I finally asked my dad in late 2005 and he confirmed it; He was not the least bit mad at me for asking.

That said, in addition to my aunt, I have quite a few LGBT friends and I do not take kindly to any sort of insults or discrimination based on their orientation.

Another example of childhood innocence and something going right over my head would be content of songs, specifically ones that talk about “Making love”.

In 1996 or 1997, my dad bought a Johnny Horton CD, and this was one of my favorite CDs to listen to in the Pathfinder in long trips (I have his greatest hits on my iPod now and play it in the Taco from time to time).

One Horton song, called “I’m Coming Home” I believe, is about a truck driver coming home to his wife after an extended period of time on the road. One line is “Sweet turtle dove, I’m a-comin’ home, to make sweet love to you”. This went right over my head.

My three favorite Horton songs have always been Sink the Bismarck, The Battle of New Orleans, and North to Alaska.

The Battle of New Orleans is about the Americans fighting the British in 1814. One line describes how the Americans “fired our cannon til the barrel melted down, so we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round. We filled his head with cannonballs and powered his behind, but when we touched the powder off the gator lost mind.”

Whenever I play it in the truck I still laugh!

Back in 1997 though, I didn’t understand what the line meant and asked my dad. He told me that it meant they blew the alligator’s head off.

    The difference isn’t that big...

How come the mileage was okay with the 16” wheels and bigger tires?

The biggest one would be Paradise by the Dashboard Light. By the time I started listening to Meat Loaf, it had been a few years since I’d gotten the “The Talk” from my dad and I knew how babies were made. However, it didn’t immediately occur to me what Meat Loaf’s hit 1977 classic was about...

I asked my dad while we were listening to the song in the ‘96 Pathfinder one day in about 2003 or 2004, and my dad just flat out said “It’s about two people having sex in a car.”

There are a lot of thinly veiled references to sex in country songs too; I listened to country music most heavily between 1998 and 2005. I first heard the acronym “PMS” in a Shania Twain song in the summer of 1998, when I was nine years old. Back then, it flew right over my head and I wouldn’t learn what it actually meant until probably 2003 or 2004.

When it comes to judging people, I really only see nice people and assholes. I judge people based on what’s on the inside.

    @ColoradoTJ

In my opinion, my truck makes up for its shitty mileage starting every time I turn the key no matter what the outside conditions are. My Tacoma has been exposed to brutal triple digit heat in the summer, and record a setting -20 wind chill in the mountains a couple winters ago. It has NEVER failed to start, and has NEVER overheated. The only time the battery has ever actually died is the time I was listening to the radio while cleaning the truck in the garage.

I also feel safe in my truck because it got clobbered by a drunk driver’s Mercedes and was still drivable and I came out of the accident completely unscathed, while the Benz got a bent frame and was totaled. Actually, the Benz was drivable too, but it was 13 years old at the time of the accident and likely got totaled. My truck had like $2,200 in damage...

Sir Drinks-A-Lot also got a DUI and lost his license for a year!
