Had extended warranty done on headlights/DRL issue. Correct parts, good headlight alignment.

Wanted to replace spark plugs $300 parts, shop supplies, labor, and tax. Told them I had the plugs at home (which I do). That ended the upsell.

Went in with a factory warranty covered leak above the overhead console. it took the dealer 7 days to get the truck back to me. Gave it back to me with the overhead uninstalled and replaced my factory Toyota glass with cheap Chinese glass. I dont trust going to them to get it fixed even.

Bought my truck used and one of the tires had a plug in it. got stuck on the side of the road with 2 flat tires within the first 2000 miles of owning it.

After I bought my truck, my salesman text me to ask if I wanted to be in a commercial for 100 bucks. I had to tell him my agent wanted me to hold out for a movie deal.

Bought my 2007 truck used with a Toyota certified pre-owned warranty 2009. I put a "leveling kit" on it, and down the road the front differential starting making noise, the dealership replaced it. Then about 20K miles later, same thing. This time they tried to "blame" it on the leveling kit. The service manager asked who installed the "lift kit", I told him it was a leveling kit and was none of his business. He told me Toyota believed those kits are what are causing the problem and they did not want to warranty the job. I asked him why they didn't mention it the last time I was in for a front differential and he said nothing. I asked if I should remove the leveling kit and he said no. They replaced my front differential for the second time, and I haven't been back since. I have been in on other occasions, and I really have no complaints. Certified preowned warranty has expired, so now I'm running scared :fingerscrossed:

Sadly there aren't too many dealerships that are very trustworthy. They often talk up their service when selling something and once the vehicle leaves the lot it's all over. I have purchased two vehicles from a toyota dealership in Meadville Pa. having good experiences in the sales but have never used the service department for anything. I do most work myself and if I am unable to I have some good service stations that I use without any worry of being ripped off. I plan on buying a Tacoma or Tundra in the next year and will probably still do the service myself since when I do it myself I know that the work stated is done and not just a charge to me. It's a shame that they continue to get away with robbing people blind.

I would have immediately told the salesman to have a nice life and flagged down the next salesman I saw.

The idiot that did the paper work on my truck (2015 DCLB) told me that the only difference between the sr5 and trd off road was that the shocks were blue and the sticker. He then offered that he could probably get me a sticker to put on in order to save me 5 grand. It was pretty funny. After filling out the paper work he "ran me through the truck" and told me to make sure when i was towing to put it in 4 low as it would give me more torque when towing... I was actually laughing at this guy and had no idea how he still had a job.

Okay here is some more dealership BS

After coming back to ABQ from Boston for Thanksgiving I realize my tire is flat (16 psi) so I inflate it with my little vair compressor. The tire is holding air, seems like a slow air leak, so I drive to the dealership because I have tire coverage with them.

A guy with a clipboard comes out, inspects the wheel, tells me he doesn't see anything. I reply that it could be a small hole on the inner wall that wouldn't be easy to see without taking the tire off and doing the soapy water test. He asks me to roll forward so he can check the underside of the tire. I roll forward, get out and come around to the side he is on.

The guy tells me that I'm all set. I say "What? How?"

"Your valve stem was loose, I tightened it for you."

All i see in his hand is a pen, no valve stem tool, so I assume he is lying but decide to drive off because I'm clearly up shits creek with this scummy dealership. The next day i see that my tire pressure has decreased. I've had to use my air compressor every few days this week to keep the psi up. Will be making a trip to a different toyota dealership this weekend......

I put all of the mailed dealer offers to trade for my Limited truck with a lesser equipped newer truck ( and of course retire my very cheap .9% loan) in a box in the garage. They average one a week but sometimes more. It weighs about 10 pounds now and growing!

Wish I could trade the offers in for a free oil change!

Took my 4 runner in to see why the check engine light was on. 90 minutes later I was out the door after paying $512.00 to have the oxygen sensor replaced on the exhaust system. I was charged for 2.5 hours of labor, even though they had the vehicle for just under an hour and a half. They also charged me $236.00 for the part. Although I appreciate the relatively fast service, I don't like getting billed for an hour of labor that did not happen. Needless to say the price of the part was also outrageous.

Every time I even think of having my Tacoma serviced at a dealer, I pull out the invoice for this rip off transaction and go do the work myself. Every time I drive by Miller Toyota I stick my arm out the window and give them a single finger salute. It's the least I can do.

Went back and forth between emails and phone calls about ordering a 4runner in my preferred options and trim. No one had the 4runner in the area so the dealer said they would order it and it would be delivered in about 3 months. So we agree to a price ,I put down a $1000 deposit and sign a purchase order for the 4runner that will take about 3 months to get in. Ok great, except I get a call almost a month after putting my deposit down and signed a purchase order. The slime ball salesman at Burdick Toyota in Cicero NY calls me and says hey we made a mistake on that price we quoted you, we can still get you the 4runner but its gonna be thousands more. I said I'll be in after work to get my deposit back I dont do business with scum bags that want to change prices a month after I put a deposit down and signed a purchase order.
They also wanted me to pay all the taxes on my trade in to them because it would be doing me a favor. You cant make this shit up and it's why I hate dealers and there dishonest scams they play.

My wife took her Impreza to the dealership for a oil change. I tend to run K and N air filters in all our vehicles and i had a gut feeling to check her air filter when she got home and BOOM , a brand new paper filter. The kicker is they billed her the price of a new K and N. We got in the car and drove back together this time and honestly couldn't help but get super mad because not only did they steal it but they took advantage of her not being keen to cars(girl) . They had a few couples sitting at tables and other people doing stealership stuff. I demanded they return the filter and refund us for the entire service after explaining what happened to the counter dude. The best part is one of the couples at the tables (unassuming making a deal) walked over and the women started to say how messed up it was that they would take advantage of my wife like that and she is supposed to be able to trust the people servicing her car. The guy at the counter was apologizing and then gave us another free service coupon. Those folks ended up leaving right there. They totally tried to play stupid at first but eventually came up with it. Never again.

I'm not familiar with the K&N up close, but I presume they look different from the paper that you found?

I brought mine into Charles Toyota in Norwich CT because I had some noises from the timing chain area. I bought the parts for them to replace everything. Told them to do so.

After they took the cover off, they found what was making the noise, $8 part, the guide between the two sprockets. Ended up costing me $500 in labor vs the $2200 they quoted me.

I had given them the authorization to replace the whole timing chain, but they were honest and only replaced what was needed.

Next time im in CT, if I ever need something done I can't do, I'll be going there

Went in to get the gear oils changed out a few years back... should take a total of about 6 quarts. Got charged for 11 quarts... when i asked the service manager about it his answer was... "well, sometimes they take more". That was the last time i'll ever let them touch my truck. Oh, and the waiting area smelled like old people farts.

They are a red color and are made to be washed and reused/not cheap. Supposed to have better air flow too.
