I did use a router after making a quick template out of 1/4" ply. I used a 1/4" bit and told the Line-X peeps to add what they needed to the edges for a nice fit. I made a deck for a jeep in the past and had fitment issues because I didn't leave enough space for the Line-X... this seemed to make it easier for them and me.

GooseGear makes a nice product and having built these from scratch, I can say to do it right with quality materials is NOT cheep. I built my own because I wanted the deck to be totally enclosed - could even be lockable with the right latches.

Right on, my plan is to do the same. Planning on using auto carpet and figure a 1/4" bit should leave enough space for that but might need to adjust, or only fold carpet over on the hatch but not on the opening.

I looked at the GooseGear, they are still working on the one for AC with jump seats removed. Nice looking product but I'd rather have the deck fully enclosed.

    That looks super clean.

What was trick to get the curves along rear doors, lots of trial and error?

I've been watching this for a while and I might make my own attempt, but with a 60/40 split. I'd like to have the option to put a seat back in if I need one. If I can really figure it out I could probably upload a CAD drawing that you could send to a CNC shop

I did a 60/40 in my Jeep JKU that worked well...

Would it be possible to install something like this but keep the seats and back panel? Curious where all the attachment points are so it's not just loose in there. Looks like part of it ties into the bolts for the driver and passenger seats?
I love the idea, but it would be great to have the option to take it out and still have seats underneath.
    Fantastic job!

If you fold all your seats you can accomplish similar results.

    Bottom cushions up and forward.
    Seat back down.

    Makeshift platform on top.

Would lose a good bit of usable space with seats still in.

Give it a shot. See what you come up with.

This is the solution I devised for my 2nd gen.
    Same concept applies.

    Version 1.0
    IMG_1879.jpg

    Remove bottom cushions.

    Version 2.0
    IMG_2458.jpg

    Remove entire rear seat assembly.
Utilize mounting points for backrest to create anchor point.
    Hinges up towards rear window.

I should probably have mentioned I have an access cab, not double cab. I saw another simpler version of this on here where you just get 2 toolboxes that are the same height as the jump seats, and then just add a piece of carpeted foam on top.
That's cool, but having more secure lockable storage would be even cooler!

    Like, so many.
Is this to get you more in cab storage?

I would buy one. My dog needs a place to chill in the back and since my sub install the rear seats don't go down without interfering with the woofer surround at it's xmax.
