Nissan eh? That makes two very useful items they have that's worth a damn in their product line up. Their MTF apparently, and their drain plug crush washers.

 

Nice, what did that setup set you back......just curious as I’m gonna do the same thing.....

I guess Porsche MTF is the best. But it's $90 a litre up here. Nissan I feel pretty good about.

Also, I was going to give you a hard time about hating on Nissan because I own a 30 year old Nissan car, but yeah - that car has a lot of problems with the OEM parts. I've replaced almost everything on that thing with aftermarket upgrades, except the steering rack. And now, that is starting to go.

if the oem rack lasted 30 years id make sure to buy one instead of aftermarket.

Trouble with that is even if you go OEM these days (especially from Nissan) there is a very slim chance they are built to the same quality standards which they were back in the day, so there is a much higher chance of failure.

 

I nevee had any issues with my 350z other than the terrible passenger door handle

 

I guess the only other thing I would consider is putting some loctite on the threads for the hydro braided lines. Not sure if there is vibration or not. Just would suck if one loosened up and started leaking and would have to pull the tranny just to tighten those up.

In unrelated supercharger news my Morimoto M-LED projectors and Apollo 2.0 shrouds came in today at last! Retrofit goes down Friday. I'm so excited to get some AWESOME light output!

 

I used to be all about the retrofits, built a couple sets of em back in the day, but ultimately went back to stock reflector type and halogens. Less moving parts and things to break. They don't hold up too well if you kinda beat on your truck.. or shove your way through dense brush. Lol. I hated spending so much time and energy and money on a baller set of custom headlights, to ruin em in one camping or wheeling trip.

I do have a bumper now though that I'm waiting to add headlight hoops to the center.. Sitting on the garage floor.. So maybe I'd do em again.. Lol

 

Hahaha. I used to be totally against them because I am so against HIDs and I thought there was more to them than what needs to be done. If I ever wreck a housing while wheeling I know exactly what needs to be done to fix it (which is as simple as a guts transfer from the busted tabs headlight set to the new housing replacement). Now that Morimoto made a wicked LED projector and I've studied enough of the retrofits to see that it is indeed as easy as they ideally should be, I'm all about retrofitting these now. LED so there is much less to fail on it. If it ever does fail I'll just crack open the bad housing, remove and replace the projector and be back on my way.

I hate working with ballasts. I'm all about LEDs these days.
