    This sweet little taco ended up in my driveway last week after it’s previous owner over heated her....

    91A664D0-94B1-4EF3-8B11-73B96B92B4EE.jpg More to come i have a new motor ready to drop in once I put all fresh gaskets on her

    A few hours of brushing and quick primer fog she’s looking much better. I ordered all new oem gaskets, hoses, and studs/nuts for the intake and exhaust so I figured I have enough time to paint her up. Hopefully that helps fight our salty winters off better.

    now that she’s running theres a few TSBs I’m going to take her in for and I’d still like to clean the interior up a bit either a new drivers seat or maybe some seat covers

    Now would be a good time to replace the plastic coolant tube, if it has it.

    @Torspd @MrCrowntown @05Taco4x4

    Any of you have a engine enamel “brand” or color you’re particularly fond of on these little motors? VHT is everywhere but I wasn’t inlove with my valve cover on the 3rz

    Think I used VHT, I don't know the exact color but was a darker grey for the block and used aluminum color on the head

    Replacing the plastic bypass pipe with the # mentioned above would be great preventative maint

    Came out pretty good. I’m just going to clean up the head because the aluminum is in great shape. 98B88FC1-31A5-44BE-AC5D-7E23BED7FB5F.jpg

    Rolling the truck in the garage this evening hope to have everything disconnected by tonight and hopefully be pulling the motor in the morning... I live in new England though so one rusted bolt could change everything o_O:rofl:

    It’s going down all connections undone and radiator getting drained is the goal for tonight. Gotta figure out how I’m going to access the motor mounts

    Got the old motor out. 56539B42-7A14-489F-8B44-3D00BB2209D3.jpg
    Now time to transfer alt ps pump and ac to the new motor. Unfortunately I’m still waiting for some new idler pulleys and intakes/exhaust gaskets. While she’s out I’m addressing anything that could be worn.
    image.jpg
    I’m also going to clean up the front differential and surrounding areas and right before the motor goes in I’ll fluidfilm the inside of the frame and crossmember
