    Hello All,

I am excited to be part of the community. I have spent many hours on this forum getting educated. TW has been and continues to be instrumental in my research. Thank you!

I have been away from wheeling for a long time. My last truck was a 70 Unimog 406. It was a beast. Mine was configured more like a tractor with 20sp, full hyd front and rear, pto front and rear and myriad of implements. I had to trailer everywhere i went to ride though as top speed was only 45 mph.

This past summer i was out west again in MT, ID, WY and spent a few weeks camping with my family and taking my 15 chevy 3500HD (daily driver) to remote areas on forest service roads and fell in love all over again. After that experience i knew i needed to build an overlander and that is what i am doing.

After many hours of research as to which vehicle i should go with, it became clear that the Tocoma was what i needed.

Next week I will be picking up my new 19 TRD offroad, 6sp manual, double cab short bed. I was searching for used but i got a great deal on this one an jumped on it.

I will be doing my own build and looking forward to becoming one with my Taco. My goal is build a solid truck dedicated for overlanding. I live on the east coast and plan on driving her out to MT and ID next summer for further exploration. I don't plan on doing terrain which is too crazy but want to be prepared for unexpected.

Below is what i would like to do, in stages, but finished by June. I welcome your thoughts and opinions. BTW - Please don't say anything to my wife. ;-)

I am looking forward to becoming part of the community!

    Thanks again.
