Truck just hit 50k miles and trac off and check engine came on... Went to dealer and wanted to charge me $149. to pull codes... left went and borrowed my brothers scanner and codes are
    P0174, P1170, C0700 along w intermittent trac off
I didn’t clear codes but disconnected battery(after checking gas cap) reconnected battery and codes gone
Drove approx 5 miles and check engine back on along w Trac off.
    Drive Train Warranty 60k miles
Any suggestions? I have taken excellent care of this truck.. first new vehicle in 30 yrs.. still all stock w aftermarket accessories only
Had to have my stereo replaced 3 weeks ago apparently the “computer went bad”.. $1300. Part $149. Labor
It’s a 2016 Tacoma Crew TRD Pro 6’ Inferno and I Love it but.... Slightly frustrated

Typically P0174 is a air fuel ratio sensor. You'll need to read freeze frame data and compare bank to bank to understand the code.

Same here. My CEL and Trac Off are lighted up, except it happened when I replaced my OEM gas cap with a Duralast locking one.

This, take it to another dealer (if you have one that is) that is more cooperative.

TECH SAID AT WORK IT WOULD HELP TO HAVE THE PROPER 6 DIGIT CODES AND NOT THE 4 DIGIT. HE SAID THE P0174 IS SYSTEM TO LEAN AND P1170 WAS POINTING TOWARDS A INJECTOR ISSUE AND C0700 HE COULDNT FIND. HE SAID IT WOULD NEED TO BE DIAGNOSED WITH 6 DIGIT CODES ETC. HE DIDNT THINK IT WOULD BE SOMETHING SIMPLE.

Having the same issue myself, my '17 has 46k and this just occurred. I fill up at the same gas station as always and never had an issue, I'm mostly sure I tightened the gas cap the first time...I filled up again after this and made sure that time...still on. trac comes back on above 31mph though...but the damn cruise won't work grrrrr. Haven't had time to go to the dealer or pull codes yet.

It's amazing what a gas cap can do these days. Then you have the new Hondas they don't even come with a gas cap. Capless system.

This was exactly my issue. Around 50K miles my TRAC OFF would not turn on, so I pulled the codes and reset my battery also. Rechecked the gas cap too. TRAC OFF was cleared but came back on. Checked my cone air filter and it was very dusty.
Cleaned the cone air filter, the box it sits in, took the CAI tube off and cleaned the inside, cleaned the throttle body and the MAF sensor. I used a MAF sensor cleaner spray and clean rags.
This fixed problem and I haven’t had any more issues. Hope this helps.

Similar thing happened on our 4Runner. Couple months ago it was throwing P2111 code. I cleared it and it worked fine until yesterday and it threw it again. Took it to dealer and they said it needs a new throttle body (I assumed it was under warranty which is why I took it to dealer). However the throttle body isn’t covered under power train warranty (it is in California however). They said it would be about $700 to fix (they also said I need a $45 cabin air filter change, $35 engine air filter, and $135 “brake fluid service”) for a grand total of about $1000 . So I’ll pull the throttle body off this weekend and try cleaning it myself. Only has about 45k miles on the vehicle. Disappointed I blew 99 bucks for them to read the code, disappointed the part isn’t covered by power train warranty, disappointed I’m having issues at less than 50k miles.

Hmmm, the TB is part of the engine AND part of the emission system, I'd bypass the dealer and see if you can get a straight answer from Toyota.

I could see it not covered if it was just dirty but if you actually need a new one.........
