Mine does the same thing and I’ve just been working around it since I got my bender.
    :tinfoilhat:
It’s not as bad though. Just off enough where I lift it with the tube when I’m loading a new piece.

I usually don’t unless bending DOM. Then I’ll spray a little white lithium grease or something of that nature

The thick WD40 (yellow top). I forget what it’s called. I only use it sometimes. You’ll want to at least have a small film of something on the followers because they’ll be the first thing to get damaged before your workpiece.

This guy told me today DOM would break while bending. How true is that?

Yeah I didn't wanna get into it, this was at the metal supply store. I went to pick up a couple of pieces of 1.75 DOM. I was like, let me tell this everybody in the off road industry who uses DOM. LMAO

He was saying something about DOM being stronger thus breaking easily while bending.

I don’t really understand the logic behind that. My only guess is that he is likening DOM to something like a drill bit. Drill bits are very hard but also very brittle :notsure:

Maybe he thinks DOM means Diamond Over Mandrel.

    Practice!
    get the pressure set correct!

    the correct tip

    use a guide .

Make sure you have full range of movement that things don`t get hung up.

When you lose the cut stop and preheat till things are hot enough again .

When I used a torch every day you get really good.

The torch is still my go to for cutting steel even though the Hypertherm is at hand as well

I just use WD40, smells good ( but don't listen to me, I haven't bent much

could he have been referring to the bender?
mine's a woodward Fab bender, and while it does not specify that it can bend DOM, reviews on Summit Racing convinced me it was fine

Here We can`t get enough Welders

Signs in yards out side of places.

To the point my Customers no longer ask if I know anyone .

So many places got burnt they now only hire through temp agencies

I hear the Ship Yards are more who you know then how good you might be
