I mean the hard hat.
I must have trimmed out over a hundred Dan Ryan houses in the early 2000s.
When it was just in this area and starting to take off.
It was still small enough we'd see Dan occasionally.
He once offered me a punch list job.
He told me he made no money on the houses, it was all about property development.
Money was in the plots. The houses were pretty reasonably priced. Guess that's how he got big.
As I understand it, he had a falling out with Ryan Homes (family?) and started his own business.

 

I've never heard of him until my wife bought this hard hat at Goodwill for our son
