So, I put on a set of 2019 of road wheels on my 2015 off road as well. The tpms light turned on after the second day I put them on; see what it does, the light blinks for a minute than it stays on. I’ve had a guy at tire discounters scan the sensors and he said they where not synchronizing with the truck. he said he might be able to download a software on the scan tool and “try” to reset it. Anyone has or had this issue before?

Third gen sensors aren’t not compatible with second gen trucks.

Sorry to say I did the same thing. 2018 OR rims and sensors onto a 2013 sport. Unfortunately they would not learn to the truck tried several time with a scan tool. Apparently the angle they sit at in the tire makes a difference. $250 later new old style sensors installed and wallah! They worked.
Go figure the only thing they changed

I believe that the 3rd gen use a 7 digit ID code whereas the 2nd gens use a 6 digit ID code......

Angle is irrelevant. They’re not compatible electronically.
