Battery life has come a long way in micro dots. The RMR's advertise a multi-year life, and that's limited by the battery's own degredation, not the RMR's draw.

I will also say, the improvements a durable optic makes to manual of arms are significant. The sight has become my main point of manipulation on the slide and it works really well.

Holosun also has impressive claims (similar to aimpoint) but they also have solar backup on some models, I’m excited to see what long term durability is on my 2 holosuns.

I've heard good things about them, and the feature set of shake-awake, auto off, solar, and long life in an RMR footprint makes it super appealing. I just need to see a place like Sage recommend it, or at least talk to some competitors with a few thousand rounds through them.

    Random question

Walther Q4 tac 9mm fails to eject when I added a leupold rmr but doesnt when I put the vortex venom. :annoyed: Why?! My only logical assumption is weight and the load is not hot enough for the leupold

I mean that makes sense...how do you like the q4 TAC? Im thinking about gifting it to myself when I get my Christmas bonus. I wanna eventually suppress it, but Im between red dot or 3 dot...which would be the diff between getting a navy or q4 tac.

I'd assume you're right. When I threw on my optic I noticed steel case went from ejecting 3' to 1' and I attribute that to extra mass. Try heavier or higher pressure ammo and see if that alleviates the issue. You could also try to find a reduced power recoil spring.

It's super accurate, very smooth trigger and feels very nice in the hand. The three dot on it is very nice, but yes to your point having the rmr option is to slap on a red dot. I'd look at it from this perspective, I'd rather have the option than not. I think you can find it at a price point that isnt that much off from the navy.

I also put on a compensator (two accually) and also had a fail to eject lol. So I took it off. I think I have to play with how much I threaded it on and see if it helps.

Yup I'll up it to 125 and see if that helps. If not, ill switch the leupold to the q5 and just put the vortex on the q4:D:thumbsup:

Have you checked the walther forum? Theres some guys talking about the 2 different ejector spring (something like that). Theres one for when you have a suppressor and one for when you don't. You're supposed to switch back and forth.

My buddy put together a comp'd M&P 5" that shot flat as hell, but needed a reduced power recoil spring to run properly.

Just because a flashlight is mounted, doesn't mean you need to have it ON. If you're going to be clearing a house (hopefully, YOUR house), having an attached flashlight is useful and you just flick it on when you're looking at particular places that require more light. Practice this if you do it, though.
