This has been discussed before. The 2nd gen grab handle is a completely different shape where it meets the dash. Also the color, as you mention wouldn't match.

Oh yeah. Didn’t think of that. I know there a dude in Mexico put a second gen single cab onto a third gen frame and I forgot the interior is all redesigned.

Again - let me know when they're on hand. Yanking on the steering to get in the vehicle is unacceptable. My 1997 Taco was an actual mini truck, this 2016 Taco by that standard is a very tall.

No. It’s not ready to go. However, please keep an eye out :) It takes time to create a mold, as well as very expensive. I’m not sure if many of you know how expensive something like this cost but I’ll put it into perspective a little. Just the Grab Handle Mold alone cost $29K. That is why I ask for Pre-Orders on this one. Every Pre-Order I get, gets me that much closer and quicker to getting this all done for us if that all makes sense bc that $29K is not purchasing these at all yet to sell them to you guys so that you can install these amazing items on your trucks. That comes after that. That all needs to be paid upfront. Then you pay for how many Grab Handles you want to order on top of that. So that is all what I am putting together for you so this is possible. Once I place the order after I check figment, which the grab Handle got caught in all the Black Friday shipments, ugh, it will take a month lead time to for them to make 1000 Grab Handles for me :bananadance:

Yeah. Not too worried about it. Just trying to let people in so they are aware of the cost because I’m not to sure they fully understand how much some things cost or how long things take to produce starting from scratch. It’s always nice to learn and to educate about these things. I remember when I was new to all this stuff.

Yup. Consumers have grown accustom to the Amazon prime mentality "it's gotta be in stock now". But very few understand the complications and time frame that goes in behind the scenes of making something from scratch. Keep up the good work.

    wanna be mods
Thanks for the update, looking to get my boss' buy in on pre-ordering, but she's 9 months pregnant and I'd like to paint the full picture for her, especially hoping to get that done before she starts her labor (due date is this Saturday, but is looking like we're going to pass that with no trouble).

With the actual numbers put out there, I totally expected the molding to run somewhere over $20k, but thanks for further cementing the daunting upstart costs, and your hard work, sizable investment in initial molding are not lost on what I would assume is the average TW member...

For what it's worth I'm also trying to squeeze in a auto tailgate lock product, while preordering this grab handle a pillar!

Goodness! This needs a pointer thread in the 3rd Gen section. I completely missed it.

Wil there be some extra space to accommodate Meso and/or DSIM connectors? So we don’t get that “bulge”?

What do you mean so you don’t get that “bulge”? Please explain I have the same things so I’m just trying to understand what you are talking about.

I guess they mean the bulge that occurs on the APillar trim when you do not properly arrange the wirings in the pillar.
The wire bundle, if not pushed down into the dash, would take up too much space, thus causing a visible bulge.

I do not have a bulge on mine.
