Hey guys new to the page. I am curious on something. I will be purchasing a roof rack soon.. probably will the the "Front Runner". Now my question is regarding installation of light bars. I am thinking I want to have a larger one up front and a smaller one on each side and rear. How do I go about getting all that wiring to my dashboard for toggle switches? Seems like a lot of wiring to run from the roof rack and down through the door jamb I would assume. Thanks in advance. Please post pictures if you got some for visuals.

    Currently just a light bar.

Heat shrink wires and run it between the windshield and trim down the pillar into engine bay.

that video, even though it's for a 4runner, show's how to do the wiring. Wiring starts around 7 minute mark.

@piff I was aware of that method but, if doing say 4 light bars on your roof, that wont work I dont think.

Many of us buy switch systems. And use bussbars to clean the wiring up.

I run the Stech Universal switch system since it’s only $160 and runs up to 6 devices.

    Here’s a quick write up.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/powertray-and-s-tech-install.588501/

With this you would wire everything directly into the Stech module in the engine bay. The switch panel is one wire from your dash to the Stech module through the firewall.

Makes wiring accessories a breeze and offers room for growth.

Other systems include sPOD and SwitchPro but I can justify their cost for a light switch.

@JoeCOVA Hi, I more meant down from the roof to the engine bay. Is there a way to have a hub up top that uses one wire down to the engine bay? Or am I not understanding correctly? Thanks

You could have a hub up top, but you would still need a very thick power cable going to your battery. It just doesn't make sense to have the hub up top. You can run the wires down the windshield like we've suggested... It's really the only way besides cutting a hole through the roof somewhere.

You could but like mentioned you would still need to run cabling to the battery. LEDs are very low amp so you wouldn’t need that thick of a cable. However most run the cable down the windshield molding. Other run the wires off the back and down into the rear cab vents.

I use a plastic wire loom down along the side of the windshield into the engine bay. I hold it place wiht some gorilla tape. I run wires for scene lights (one on each side) and rearward facing S2's. I don't think there's much room for a fourth set of wires. but they make bigger wire looms than what I have.
