Finally getting the cash together to lift my truck. Nothing special Bilstein 6112s in front and 5160s in back along with new OME Dakar leafs. Does anyone know a good place around Lansdale / Hatfield / Souderton to get the springs for the 6112s compressed? I'd prefer to not try that myself.

Also thinking about JBA UCAs - seems like a lot of bang for the buck and I'd like to support a local business. Thoughts?

If you buy them from Headstrong they'll put the springs on the strut for you for like $80.

Either do JBA or Dirt Kings upper and lower arms. Don't mess around.wirh anything in between.

Putting springs on is easy, I've got a real compressor.

Biggest vehicle I’ve ever driven based on sheer size is a brand new 2019 Ford Transit 350 with dual rear wheels.

Piss off a off duty State Cop bad enough you will be glad if you only get one ticket!!

Out of State they only need to call Local Law Enforcement .

Most I know you would need to do something really dumb.

Lets here the rest of the story ??

This was in New Jersey, but it happened to my friend...

This was sometime in the late nineties when my friend was a teenager. He came to a fork in the road of sorts where two roads came from different directions and became one. My friend and his buddies were in his Honda Prelude coming from one direction, and an off-duty cop in his Dodge Ram was coming from the other. From what I remember, my friend came out of the “fork” a little too fast and unintentionally cut off the off-duty cop. The cop became enraged and chased down my friend. To my friend and his buddies, this appeared to be a nutcase in a pickup truck, so my friend floored it. The cop in the truck stayed on my friend’s ass and called his on-duty colleagues. My friend was stopped by the on-duty cops, and written up for numerous violations, and he took it to court and lost.

I also heard a story from another acquaintance, who if I remember correctly either beeped and/or gestured at another motorist who turned out to be an off-duty cop; this was in PA. The cop responded by blocking him against a curb, illegally detaining him there until
his on-duty buddies showed up, and told a bunch of lies so he would get written up for a slew of violations. If I remember correctly, this person took the case to court, fought it, and won.

The answer to the original question is yes and no; No, off-duty cops can not write tickets, but they can call on-duty cops; The on-duty cops are going to believe a fellow officer over some hapless motorist every time, and that’s where the yes comes in.

I abide by two policies when I’m stopped by police; Always be polite to police no matter what, and keep the dashcam in your vehicle recording at all times during a traffic stop in case the officer behaves in an unprofessional manner.

Honestly if someone was doing that kind of ___ to me I might have tossed a brick out the window. Now I don't have bricks packed away in my car, so something else scary enough to get them the ___ off my tail might come out instead. I see no excuse for people threatening your life by riding up irresponsibly within feet of your tail. If they're going to threaten my life by driving that way behind me (i.e. if a deer jumped in front of me and I had to brake, or whatever), they're going to regret it.

In that specific case, driving like a jagoff and going into the opposite lane that had traffic in it is what caused that situation. That doesn't happen, nothing else does.
