Does it still fold up good with the 6 clamps? No interference? I have two extra clamps that I haven't installed yet.

The 303 is in my Amazon queue. I will hit it with that as soon as the sun comes back out here (about March?). :D

I dislike airport parking myself, I usually pay a little extra and do covered parking whenever I have to.

Also this summer, Vegas was our two night rest stop from camping. Got an AirBnB within walking distance of the strip. I disliked Uber in Vegas too, we used the monorail the whole time. :D unfortunately that meant we had to leave the taco and trailer on the street over a three day weekend, in one of the sketchiest neighborhoods ever. It never got messed with, and with no fingerprints anywhere on my dusty truck or camper, I thought it better for my own sanity to just delete the dashcam footage without reviewing.

I'm my opinion, crackheads breaking into the topper is not unheard of, but it's extremely rare. Rare enough that I don't lose sleep over it, anyway. I've never heard of anyone stealing a topper. It takes too long and is way too obvious. If thieves have that much time around your truck, I would imagine they'll go for the more lucrative parts like wheels and tailgates first.

We have a favorite lot that is away from all the others. Good folks also. I don't mind parking there, but I rather crutch on friends. They know I'll be there when they need it.

Yeah. I am not losing sleep over the security. My roll up tonneau was never messed with. But, I sure do love the ST. As far as I can tell, there is not a better or simpler solution for my situation.

Security is the biggest factor.. I don't keep anything I care about back there unless it's fastened/locked down. I also don't go to sketchy places and my neighborhood is relatively quiet. I'm currently looking for a locking chest that I can permanently secure for tools and recovery stuff. Any ideas? I plan to install molle on all 3 corners for the basics when I'm out on the trail(shovel, rotopax, axe, machete).DSCF1186.jpg

There was a chest posted in the 3rd Gen section last week that fits perfectly ahead of the wheel wells on the LBs. Folks tied it into the bed bolts.

    Too few to list.
Clamps doesn't interfere with folding at all. Clamp away!

Looking really good. I wish Denim was available in 2017. :D Still happy with red though. Those are some words that I never thought that I'd say.

You can get the metal parts as an accessory. They require the curved bar. I'm not sure if it requires a rear window panel change. The ends of the bar are still plastic/nylon though. Call softopper, they are super helpful and will get you what you need.

Or just get a spare set of the plastic ones.

I sent off an email with suggestions for metal clips as well as metal zipper and the rails out if steel with bed rack mounting plates similar to kb voodoo. Lets see if they reply

One note. ST says that their metal parts are all SS or marine grade aluminum. I would rather not have carbon steel parts that could corrode. For example, look at the corrosion issues that GFC went through with their frames and front and rear tubes. In fact, they swapped the front and rear tubes to aluminum.

Similar problems with metal zippers. Myself, I'm happy with the vislon zippers.

    Just some thoughts.

Yeah i dont suggest straight up steel but maybe an alloy that is corrosion resistant...mostly for the bed mount options

Great list, but add wind drag to this. Difference is felt on the highway, as well as heard and seen in mpg.

That means stainless which will bump the price without much benefit, IMO.

Because you can fit way more shit in the back of a truck than an SUV?

To each his own, I love my hard shell. I think I already posted in this thread that I owned a soft top Jeep for over a decade. Getting in and out of soft tops is annoying, especially in the desert (dust and eventual) scratches and when it's cold.
