That's great, I still wouldn't bother with it. 180° stat will be fine. New oring too. Get the VatoZone motorad if you can really spend money on a bumper but not something your engine actually needs. If you're gonna cheap out, at least cheap out good and get a stant oe style one.

How did you manage to install a belt wrong? They're not even manually tensioned. I know you don't have a distortion gauge. So did it actually stretch. Or did you put it on one or two teeth off and it took a while to set the cam sync code.

What dealership would install a Gates belt? They don't sell those, dealership would have given you a Mitsuboshi

They sell for a lot in Nice condition. But usually most people request that the frame actually have all its paint and not be half stripped and half coated with whale sperm

I drove it off the lot in 2002 and have no desire to part with it. A replacement will surely come along but this one will stay in the family for many, many years to come.

Well you live in a terrible place then. Around my neck of the woods a nice condition first gen with a V6 goes for 7 to 11 Grand. Okay condition and below or for four cylinders can range from 3 to 6 Grand

i live in a place where these old Tacomas basically do not exist
yes i see a couple on the streets now and then, but are not in nice condition on the exterior
for a locale nearing 1 million people i would expect more of these to be seen on the streets every now and then!

the main ones i see around are the 01-04 models, go figure!
go check the mid west regional
there is probably 1 or maybe 2 on there not including me, and still are post '00
    its sad and ridiculous

Don't sell your truck (or yourself) short. No need to see/worry about issues which aren't there or not critical. Just a thought.

See somebody wants your truck. If you have to worry about it getting jacked then there's a desire for it
