You can do a search on TW. This used to be a common mod for non ATRAC models like mine. If you have ATRAC wouldn’t worry about it.

Haha. Well you definitely should read up on it and determine if you really need to spend money on a front locker. It uses you abs system to stop spinning tires with no traction and deliver power to the one that has traction.

Looks like we were being too conservative in our tests. The initial tests that Eaton has you do were not engaging the locker but when attempted on the ground we were more hesitant to push it with the locker on since we were not successful on the first test.

Tested it out over the weekend as my brother was installing a front and rear on a Landcruiser and it appears it is working.

I may decide to move it to a regular switch to free up a space on the switch pro but all in all its working just need to give it a real world test.

Staying tuned. Made a move on an ARB RD111 for my front, still haven’t installed it, the Harrop May be something I may revisit

re gearing to 5.29's and pulled the trigger on harrops front and rear on my AT sr5. I'm hoping they work out and prove to be reliable and dependable. Getting diffs built at ECGS so i'm feeling confident i'll get quality built diffs from a reputable shop.

I’ve heard great thing about them. Nothing but positive feedback, my buddy @G.T. has them fitted on his 77 series LC. I want one to lock up the front.

The Harrops are hands down so much better than the ARBs that I have in my Tacoma. I wish they were available for the Tacoma when I was shopping for lockers as I’d have snatched them up in a heartbeat. Have them in my 70 series LandCruiser and they rock. Once I tear the Tacoma apart again Harrops are going in it too.

This is great to hear. A lot of the info I’ve read about the Harrop are negative. And a lot of guys saying arb is ahead and better. After reading about a lot of the issues with arb seals leaking and leaky air lines I wanted to go E locker. Can’t wait to try em out.

I saw some saying they don’t trust the play/disengage on forward/reverse on technical terrain. One guy saying his engaged on the highway and Grenaded his diff. And a couple people upset about warranty issues that were not honored. Probably just a lot of arb fans bashing.

I’ve heard the arguments about Harrop lockers disengaging in reverse and as a user of them I think it’s ridiculous. When I’m reversing on a track I’m changing lines, I don’t want the front end bound up by a locker making this unnecessarily difficult. Once I put it back into a forward gear and start moving forward it locks back up as expected. This is a feature.

With my air lockers I have to be concerned about a separate air compressor, solenoids, and air line connections. I’ve gone through two solenoids for the front locker and one for the rear. The rear leaks just enough to lose pressure and unlock before the compressor fires again to clamp it shut again. Granted this is on a five year old install but they’ve been giving me fits on and off for the whole time.

I dropped the Harrops into the LandCruiser almost six months to the day after the ARBs went into the Tacoma and they have never once acted up, failed to operate or disengage the entire time. I’m not doing rock buggy stuff with either of these Toyota’s but I do wheel hard and there are people watching this thread that can attest to it.

Allot of projects going on right now in my shop and if I keep the Tacoma I’ll pull the ARB lockers and replace them with the Harrop e-lockers. I’m tired of lockers that might work and having to cross my fingers and hope that they will disengage when I need them to.

I understand that all of us have a budget in mind when we upgrade and the air lockers are usually less expensive, but when I consider upgrades, function is the first thing on my list. I’ve used them both and now know what I want from now on.

Do like me and eat poverty flavored food for a couple more weeks To save up the difference. And if you want to play with the Harrops from the drivers seat and are, or can be in the St. Louis area let me know. I’ve got to do a valve job and a pinion bearing on the LandCruiser but then we can wheel it and show you how satisfying these lockers are when in use.

Psshhhh... all you're going to do is make whoever test drives want to buy a 70 series.

Checked out Harrops website and it does look good, I'll be checking into this when I do a rear locker. Thanks for the info.
