I picked up a lil package of shrimp cocktail on my way home from work.

The package made it very clear not to use a microwave to thaw it out and let it sit in the fridge for a few days 1st... and do NOT use a microwave

They mention that because microwaves don't cook things uniformly...which means uneven thawing...which means uneven cooking...which means getting sick. They care about your health because they don't want to get sued.

Better just to run cold water over the shrimp in a colander for about 5 minutes.

Or just go to Popeye's.
