For those of you who’ve installed a progressive add-a-leaf, did you have to cut off the factory spring pack retainer on the factory leaf pack? The instructions mention that on some year models it may interfere with the add-a-leaf and need to be removed. Just trying to get an idea of what all I’ll need to do when I get ready to install.

Yep, grind the rivet off and pry it loose.

I had to grind mine off, i think the whole process took 5 minutes. Be sure to use a lot of clamps on the factory leafs, it will make your life much easier

Oh yeah, use clamps and not the center pin nut to pull the springs together.

Yes, had to remove stock retainer. Took the rivet head off with a grinder but it was still a bitch to remove.

Yep, it me a while to grind that sucker off with my little Harbor Freight 4.5" angle grinder. It would be easier on a lift for sure.
