Cure 81 for me all day and every day thank you very much. Just picked up a small one last night at Hy-Vee, it will go on the kettle to get smoked this weekend.

If I do a bone in ham of course I smoke it and do the same with leftovers that don't get frozen. Used to use the stock pot and simmer it all night. Now I use the Instant Pot.

I almost never use my All-Clad stock pot anymore.

Smokey ham bone broth and smokey ham is a good thing.

HEB is Texas thing I think...no HEB here either...:pout::pout::pout:but the spiral cut ham is good on a sammich, like grilled cheese style or just plain cold with cheese and mayo/mustard, lettuce...

Is the "pit boss" a good brand? I'm thinking about picking up my first pellet smoker and have not decided which I want to go with but the price for this 456 pit boss is pretty good.

I have a Pit Boss vertical smoker and it is a great smoker. The quality is there and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone else!

You are a bad, bad man!

14 in stock down in town right now. My cost would be $170.

But it only goes up to 500° and the new Weber when it comes out will do 600°. For only a bit over $1,000 more. However it is larger. And I am not sure where I would put a damn pellet pooper anyhow no more room on the deck. At $170 though I am sure I could make room. Just won a gun on gunbroker yesterday that I need to pay for today. But it is Christmas...

You are a bad, bad man! Says it is on sale until the end of January too.

5yr warranty was good enough for me.

I needed a grate replacement, i messaged them on FB and got it replaced for free.
Same with my two other friends that needed something from pit boss warranty.
One friend bought a clearance assembled pit boss from Target. It was missing the grease bucket. Friend messaged them, and pit boss overnighted a $7 item.
    Their customer service is great.
Now some parts might not be in stock, but they will still honor the warranty if you are willing to wait

You know you want it. I mean it's only $170, that low of a price it would be wrong NOT to go and get it. Can always resell it once the Weber one is out and in the hands of the public and they have said yay or nay on issues. :)

Looks like a full packer will fit on the 456, but just. Do you know if it would be a problem filling that little thing almost to capacity with a brisket for a cook? Thanks!
