Right now I work for defense contractor (my dad is one of the vice presidents) taking care of the fleet vehicles and doing grunt work. I also get paid to put up Christmas decorations. The pay is good and it comes with a 401K and paid vacations, but I don’t know if I will stay there. I still really want to be an HVAC technician. I have been at this job since September 2019.

I worked as a barback at a venue called Puck, in Doylestown, for more than four years (December 2014-January 2019). I am still technically employed there, but the bar is closed indefinitely for renovations so I’m effectively furloughed. I miss this job, but it wasn’t a realistic place to start a career.

I worked in the detail shop of a large car dealership from September 2018 to June 2019 (overlapped with my last few months at Puck), but to say I did not like that job is an understatement. I left after ten months

If you really want to go back, I worked at Dunkin Donuts for all of three weeks in October 2013. That was the first job I got all by myself, but I had no idea what I was in for and left in frustration without even giving my two weeks notice.

I also worked at family-owned deli for a few hours in November 2013 but walked out when the owner turned out to be an asshole.

I learned my lesson. I don’t run red lights. I had my license for six years before I ever got pulled over, and my goal is to do my damndest to go at least another five without getting another ticket.

In my opinion, getting pulled over is a fact of life when you own even a slightly modified vehicle. A perfect example would be the window tint in my Tacoma. It is totally legal by Pennsylvania law, but illegal in New Jersey. I drive into NJ a few times a year and to date have never been pulled over. If I do get pulled over for my window tint, I will be polite and kiss the cop’s ass. If I get a ticket I will be a bit disgruntled but I will just pay the ticket and move on with life.

I have two good ideas Claymore mine with a sign proximity sensor .

Chain gun raising up from the bed spooling up!

Then most tailgaters would be clueless what they were looking at.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
You can left one a one way? That I did not know. I don't know any place where that would come into play but that's good knowledge to have.

Corrosion on the contacts or wiring somewhere. That can reduce amperage as well as voltage. Electricity travels on the surface of the wire/contact, not through. I once fought a trailer light (big rig) that had the proper voltage on the terminals but wouldn't light up a bulb. Turned out the harness connector was completely corroded. I scrubbed the contacts with a wire brush, applied some NYK and it was good as new.

I've made lefts on red a few times. More opportunities to do so in the city. I never knew if it was legal or not though.

Sounds good, it's a bit cold down there in January so the work day tends to be a bit shorter, but we can definitely get you some new control arms.

Definitely. Let me know when you have the parts in hand and we'll schedule some time to make it happen.

Years ago, I was cruising down a two-lane road in my old '88 Cougar XR7 5.0. I was younger then and had a tendency to push that car to its limits (plus it was modified :stirthepot:).

It was late in the evening and I caught up to a nice import SUV going 20 mph below the limit. The speed limit was 55 and they were doing 35, but anytime an oncoming car came by they would stab the brakes, like they were terrified or something. I put up with this for about a mile or two, thinking they would turn off and I could get back up to speed.

On and on we went, putzing along, until I finally lost my cool and kicked that Cougar in the butt and decided to overtake on a double yellow. Yep, you guessed it - there was a black-and-white hiding in the bushes just up ahead, and he saw the whole thing play out. I got the ticket and there's nothing I could say to prevent it.

Sometimes we just do stupid things and get caught. We're human, after all. :notsure:

    Stuff. Things.
For your information..."The Bucks County Sheriff’s Office is the highest level of law enforcement in our County. Today the Sheriff is the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the County, and he falls under the title of "Police" in the Pennsylvania Crimes Code. The Sheriff in modern times is a professional law enforcement agency. Deputy Sheriff's may engage in many activities throughout the day, from serving civil process, investigating and arrest of wanted subjects, transportation of prisoners; to assisting the public and local police while on duty. The Bucks County Sheriff's Office provides Law Enforcement service to the citizens of Bucks County and operates 24-hour service to assure the quality of public safety." - Direct from their website.

They can, in fact, conduct traffic stops, and issue tickets. The reasoning for the Deputy calling for the local Police Officer to respond is as such: "The understanding with the local Pd's is that Deputies only stop serious violations and notify local PD to let them handle the citation while the deputy acts as the Affidavit. This prevents the loss of manpower and maintains a working relationship with PD's. (Preventing Union issues).

Running a red light is a serious violation. Given the potential of a serious motor vehicle accident.

The lesson I learned was never to drive more defensively and pay more attention, and I haven't run a red light since.

Also, it confounds me that police have unions. If the police go on strike, then who in the hell is supposed to protect us?!?!

I was so enthralled by this question that I called my dad and asked him...

Police do in fact have unions, but the law prevents them from going on strike because we obviously need police. They are allowed to negotiate wages and stuff, but that's about it. My dad believes the same is true for paid firefighters.

I've only been caught a couple times and have only gotten two tickets, both of which I fought and got drastically reduced with no points. My two philosophies are two drive defensively and drive sober; If you do those two things you should be fine!

And what happened to you sounds like a dick move on the statie's partt and nothing that could have been done on your part!

That's one reason why Americans have guns, for if civil government breaks down (like police go on strike) and we need to "defend ourselves and the state" (quoting the PA constitution).
