Nothing has no scent. It's still there on some microscopic level.
Either you still have oil on a hard surface, for hard surfaces the citrus products sprayed, let soak, then absorb away with clean rags. Rubbing just tends to smear the issue - blot for the win.

Or if you have soft surfaces (bed liner/ cap with cloth lining, etc) there are microscopic quantities that have gotten airborne & landed on the soft surfaces. For soft surfaces, something like Febreeze or Lysol sprayed about, then vacuum.

    …& think microscopic.
(I'm more current on my housekeeping than my human resources law).

Good luck - let us know what ended up working in your case.

Sometimes it is nice to be able to hear my truck's exhaust from outside when it starts and the mechanic pulls it into the garage.

I lost my master key and im running with my valet key right now. I already ordered some new keys online and they should be here soon. I asked Stephens Toyota how much they would charge to reprogram the keys, they said it would be a minimum of 1 hour labor most likely 1.5hr @ $129hr. Since they have to reprogram them all.

It would cost me close to $170 just to have them program keys that I'm bringing them.

    That's crazy.

Yes. Yes it is. But since you need a master key to reprogram a new key yourself, they've got you over a barrel. Unless someone figured out a way to do it with a valet key, but I don't think anyone has. I can ask my locksmith buddy.

That would be awesome if you could ask him. That was going to be by next person to ask. I don't know if it different Toyota dealership would charge less or not LOL.

I'd reckon it isn't going to change dealer to dealer, that's the same quote we got for my wife's 2014 Rav4

    Response from my locksmith friend:

As far as I know, the valet keys and master keys are the same cut and same chip but at the time of programming the gray head valet key is assigned in the truck computer as a non-master key. So, I think, it could be reassigned in the computer BUT Toyota does not allow self programming so a programmer must be connected to the OBD on the truck. Also, without a master key I think Toyota implements a 10 minute lockout during programming.

In short, YES a valet key can be reassigned, but not without a dealers help, or a locksmith with an odb programmer. Which is rare apparently...
