Mud creates a vacuum. Definitely dig as much as possible. Plus all the other suggestions. Best wishes for a safe recovery and a good time.
I'll chip in $5 for the video...

My Tundra doesn't want to see dirt yet, so I will bring the wife's highlander and get it all figured out!

Not sure if it's already been asked (If so, my apologies)...

OP... How far back in, on the trail, is your truck? How difficult (sloppy, muddy) is it to get back in there?

Ya, I think he said he toasted his T-case, which is definitely not going to make things easier. Pulling a dead horse out of that soup is going to be a bitch.

:notsure: I don’t understand why people think that’s going to be a hard recovery or you need to dig it out. It’s just mud. A good couple of yanks with a snatch strap and it will come out. I have been way more stuck than that

I wish I was closer to come by and pop it out real quick. good luck OP.

He's buried up above his axles in mud... he has no power (broken Tcase)... the surrounding area has little to nothing for recovery vehicles to anchor off of... the immediate area is slicker than dog snot... and it's on an incline.

I don't think anyone is saying this is the most difficult recovery that will ever be witnessed... but on the other hand, it's not going to be fun, and it will probably take some time and multiple recovery vehicles.

It's like 14 miles, 11 of them. Is the main path and the last 3 is the mud, it isn't bad until the last 200 yards which is where I'm stuck

Will recovery vehicles be approaching from the down hill or up hill side? From the pictures, it appears the truck is facing up hill.

Is your Tcase completely smoked or do you still have 2wd?

Ok... so I'm not trying to play dumb here. Just trying to picture this.

The recovery vehicles will approach your truck, coming down the trail and be in front of your truck? Meaning they will not be coming from the same direction you were headed when you got stuck... correct?

(meaning they will not have to make it through that shit soup to set up)
