I just noticed a crack down the center of my windshield about 16" long. It wasn't there when I parked a couple hours ago. I don't think it's impact related; I think it has more to do with defrosting an ice covered windshield. Anyone know if this is covered by manufacturer or do I need to go through my insurance?
    TIA

Closer examination shows that maybe it was impacted. Maybe just a nick and the blower may have caused it to spread. I just don't remember anything bouncing off the windshield.MVIMG_20191213_130748.jpg

Work for Ford, only windshields we replace under warranty are when they are not sealed correctly, either water leak or air getting past, granted air leaks turn to water leaks usually.

May have been hit weeks ago and just cracked today. Definitely looks like an impact.

I have seen Toyota warranty windshields for cracks before but it has to be a factory issue that caused it (No impact visible, usually starts from an edge, etc.).

Maybe some kids were shooting airsoft guns or something. Similar thing happened to my fathers car years ago.

There are high powered airsoft guns out there. Some of the minimums are 450fps now. I had a full auto doing 600fps when I played in my days.

They tried to sell me some windshield warranty when I bought mine. I declined since I have insurance. You might have to go through your insurance

I didn't play competitive under a watchful eye. I played with a forum group in my area (about 40-45 people) and we played once a month. The only deal was no full-auto to the face and call your shots. Masks sufficed if shot from a distance, anything closer I pulled out a cqc or pistol.

I deleted my comment cause I was totally thinking paintball lol. I think max for airsoft is around 700 out of the muzzle.

Lol its all good, I dont play anymore anyway. But one of the higher powered ones back then was my buddies sniper rifle, clocked in at low 800s.

Owned my 2020 for just 6 days... i feel ya pain. My insurance has to "review" it because its so new and wont give me the OK if theyll pay for it yet.
As someone who owned wranglers the past 10 years and had to get the windshield replaced every quarter you'd think id be used to it
