Can you hold out a little bit Mike, and keep an eye out for a used welder on CL or faceyspace?

I was looking for a used one for a while, before a rebate made me jump on my Lincoln 210.

There is a Lincoln 180C for sale locally for $600 on FB which seems like a deal, but I worry about used stuff. I think I will see whats up though.

he speaks the truth. Especially if the welding projects revolve around the truck, a 140 amp welder will get just about every job done.

I did a lot of work on a trailer with my Hobart 140 for a guy on here and he has put it to the test with 0 issues. (Just one example)

See if you can try it out on site. Get it hot to see if the fan comes on if it has one on a thermostat.

Scored this aluminum thingy for $100CAD which is like $9.99 USD. 33’ of 3/16” ish tube and 1 sheet of 3/16”ish aluminum.
Will prob end up being a riser for the camper in the background, turned into a low pro single sled deck and sold for profit, or cut up and put away for a future crazy idea.
Or it will sit in the yard for years.... either way i am super excited about it.

I've been using this wire pulling lube on my follower. It is water based and wipes off easier than oil.

I get so many Customers burnt buying used welders .

Unless your buying a model you live with and know sideways and widdershins

Then can put it through it`s paces output and control through all the ranges.

We hear all the time They did not have wire or shielding gas maybe no 240 VAC for what ever reason .

Said it works fine Took it home tried to use it completely dead tried to find the seller nothing now looking at a repair bill more then the price of the good deal

You could use the same argument for buying a used anything though.

I'm sure there's good deals to be had on used units, much the same as there's shitty deals.

Being in the Business about the only way I might by a used welder is if it was still under warranty

By checking the serial number .

I could see a Divorce forcing a need for cash or some other reason fast cash was needed seldom do people sell money making tools

Bought my SquareWave 175 used. Thing has been an amazing machine but it did look brand new and I bought it from a dude that is a fabricator for a pretty popular offroad shop. I would not buy a machine from someone if i cant duty cycle the thing

I'd buy a used welder without qualm, as long as a little caution is exercised.

I'd be willing to bet most homeowner grade MIG welders for sale are hardly used anyways.

People are nicer out here though than the east coast. :p

I bought a hypertherm powermax 900 plasma cutter with 50’ 220V dropcord and a lot of extra tips for $1,050.00 at an auction. Had no idea if it worked, have had it 15 years and not a bit of problems. It’ll cut 3/4” steel. Sometimes you can win, lol.

I did get my stick machine for $60 in South Philly. I definitely thought I was gonna get killed or the very least robbed but it turned out to be a good score.

Might be looking at this next week.
