    This is for the front. I'm not sure what the rear shock travel is but it's probably close.

    THat also. Factory springs don't like that kind of up travel.

    But on the first post he said he was only going to use the foa's in the dez and then take them off and run factory shocks when he is on the street. and his bedcage is removable.

    how do you go about figuring something like that out? what do you change about the shackles...the size, how they are mounted?

    There is no real benefit using the stock leaf pack. Its kinda obvious that the guy dont know what hes doing. Built a bed cage to run FOA shocks. lower mounts are on top of the axle instead of in front or back to help with axle wrap. then the shocks are vertical not going to cycle correctly. My personal feeling is its a waste of time and money on his part. I didn't know what I was doing when I did my rear suspension and mounted my shocks the same way VERTICAL to find out that was totally wrong.

    Tell you the truth dont know how to figure it out. But length, angle have a lot to do with how it works out. I had a deaver midtravel setup at 1 time i ran a 10" shackle at the same angle as factory but mounted on the top of the frame. It moved the pivot point giving more down travel. But dont know the % of travel each direction. It worked ok with the deavers(to stiff) but better with the stock leaf pack

    I'm pretty sure you're right. There is no way Tim would let something like that roll out of the shop.

    can you run a allpro u bolt flip kit and have the plate act as the striker plate (idk if thats what its called) for a air bump stop?

    Couple shocks, some old tires, and a bad paint job
    Yes you can, but most LT leaf packs put the axle sprung under so it wouldn't work besides the fact that the flip kit would not work either.

    I have been thinking about some fox bumps for a while. But when bottomed out the plate goes to the underside of the frame right? And don't the bumps get welded to the side of the frame? So it would be offset and not work. Or am I trippin?

    you are going to need some different shocks up front then the 5100s. Those are going to heat up and fade so fast in the desert.

    are you going to run stock leafs thing the rear and what shocks? It really doesn't make much sense to build up your rear spring over if you are planning to do spring under. Just save and do it right the first time. Cliff tried to stay spring over with nice shocks and bumps and he ended up going sua right after. just do it once. its easier man.
