lads can some one please PM an infolog from a supported tacoma ecm.

after much fucking around and pestering HP and VCM, I can 100% confirm the AUS market is unsupported.
while the rest of the world is using CANbus
we got stuck with morse code and there seems to be little interest in any development

cheers to @Philby and @asgardengineering for sharing what they know

also, yall got anymore of them tacoma ecms for sale?

What are the specs of your truck? Year? Auto / manual? etc. We could probably pair up a part number of a similar setup for a US ecu.

Ok guys looking for an ECU pinout for Tacoma 2005-2010 ish, before they added SAI. Hilux's don't have it. From what I can tell that's going to be the best bet for the age range of cars. A750 5 speed automatic transmission, single VVTI 1GR-FE, 176kw (236ish HP for those that use dinosaur units :p)

Here's the 2005 and 2010 ECUs. I (or others) will have to dig up the transmission. I don't have them handy at the moment.

Morning all. I've been running the @JustDSM tune for a few days now. Truck is actually fun to drive. It seems it doesnt pull near as hard around 4000-redline. I'm not up there often but was wondering if it just feels that way from all of the improved mid-range acceleration. Will hopefully have some time this weekend to tweak a few things.

Now I just need to learn how to keep my foot out of the skinny pedal.

Sent you a PM and a revision to try.

Like I mentioned in the PM, I do believe that what your experiencing is the midrange "boost" is making the top end feel a little soft in comparison. Anyhow, give the revision I sent you a try and see if it spices things up a little more above 4K.

thanks @JustDSM and @nd4spdbh. Got the N/A V1 engine and V11 trans tune loaded, but dont have much seat time yet. so far its much better. I was a victim of lug in 5th lockup @ low revs, so I adjusted the 5th TCC release a bit higher in the 2nd and 3rd box (forget exactly, but i think 1500 and 1650) and that seems to have helped.

@nd4spdbh, can you explain the ACIS changes and what they do? I think you go a bit farther than what Justin puts in the V1 engine tune, right?

Also, @JustDSM, what do you look for in the logs, if I were to take some? I might have an opportunity this weekend to capture some if gains can be made.

thanks again for your work on this stuff!

I believe he uses a 25deg TPS trigger versus the 30deg that I use. All other settings identical, but I'll let him speak on what he's set his to.

That is the beauty of all this, tailor it to how you like it drive! You might take the time to go back a bit and find my V12 changes, there was changes to up and downshifts that i like quite a bit

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hp-tuners-for-2005-2015.600793/page-244#post-22053091

But bumping up the 2nd and 3rd box for 5th tcc release like you did should reduce some lugging (or holding onto 5th tcc lock for as long as it does). You can download the excel doc in that link above and change the values and see how it relates to the stock curve.

The ACIS changes. First lets explain stock.

There are 3 rpm ranges created by 2 rpm boundaries. The low rpm range is 0 rpms up to the Low-Med boundary of 2200rpms. Then the medium range is from 2200 boundary up to the second boundary (med-high) of 4100 rpms. Then the High rpm range is above that 4100rpm boundary.

Next you have a low or high throttle position set by a throttle blade angle. Stock I think is 65*.

Next you have the actual control, 6 potential spots where acis can be controlled (3 rpm zones, 2 throttle positions). Stock it is only set to enable (long runner mode) at "High throttle" in the "Medium rpm zone". So that would be at or greater than 65* of throttle blade angle, ONLY in the middle 2200-4100 rpm area.

Though various testing of my own as well as JustDSM, we both noticed increased MAF #s at lower than the stock 65* throttle angle, as well as below the Medium Rpm zone. SO we both run a "High Tps" point of less than 65* (I rock 35* as I have found the added power when rolling into the throttle for an incline nice but keep my PE enable throttle deg higher so im a lil more fuel efficient than the way JustDSM likes his, again the beauty of it all, Tailor it to your liking).

euyaer2002...A big thanks for your assistance...Just to add further information to any Hilux owners that are going to fit a Tacoma ecu, you will also need the Key Transponder with matching master key, not the glove box key, so as to be able to ID register the ecu to the vehicle.
    Some part #.....89780-04010......05/2005>06/2007
    -04011......08/2007>05/2010
    -04020......06/2010>08/2011
I also had to fit the Evap pump to remove DTC as the US market is heavily exposed to CARB regulations but now we ways and means around this.

Some time ago on the HPTuner forum, they had mentioned beta testing removal of transponder requirement (for engine swap scenarios (and Ecu swaps?!)

Might inquire if they proofed that, or test it if they still need data.

Awesome thanks, I'll load it up and try to get some time for tests. I assume just regular/normal driving conditions?

Here is a visual representation of acis in use! I managed to capture this on the drive up to mammoth last night. Starting around 4k feet, ending around 8k feet above sealevel. This section of the log was around 6000-6500ft. Cruise set to 70mph, 4th gear TCC locked so rpms are very consistent. You can see the sharp changes in MAF numbers, injector duty cycle and air load right around the times you would expect ACIS to flip at its current settings. This goes to show even at less than stock throttle openings there is a definite benefit!

I gotta laugh. In our Nissan Patrols over here, they have at 3L TD in them. Some Di some CRD. Basically has acis to promote airspeed down low. Some many people wire the actuator open full time and claim its the best thing ever
